One of the more overlooked Patriots streaks of the Bill Belichick era is finally over. In the previous 19 seasons, New England had at least one undrafted rookie on its Week 1 53-man roster. Two players — Brenden Schooler and DaMarcus Mitchell — kept the streak alive last year.

Week 1 and the Patriots have four starters out if you include Jack Jones. If they start the season this injured, what are they going to be like come week 8?

I am not happy that both starting guards are out, but it is better than both starting tackles. At least there is some depth at guard. We don't even know if the Pats have two starting quality tackles.

TBF, we dont have a starting RT. We have a plug and see what we’ve got developing situation going on right now. 2G’s and some RT’s that havent done squat on this team. Gonna be fun watching the TE stay in all game long to provide some pass protection help. Maybe have to keep the RB in pass protection as well for any play that takes more than 3 secs to develop. No Parker either. Oof. Good thing September is an extension of the preseason, eh? How ****ing great would it be to pull off the upset though? Time for an old school Pats slobber knocker baby!!!

IDK, Calvin Anderson might be a decent RT. He does have starting experience. Unfortunately, we didn't see him all summer.

One piece of context is that they drafted 12 players this year and none of the 12 were cut. 11 made the 53 man roster and the 12th (Bolden) went to IR due to a freak head injury, but was trending up in TC before that. He probably would've made it too otherwise. No room for UDFAs when you make that many picks and keep them all.

Let’s hope he’s a big surprise. Andrews is going to meed all of the help he can get. We don’t exactly have burners at the RB position and if we’re going to attack Eagles DL anywhere, it’s going to be up the middle. BiB has accomplished a lot with so-so talent. Maybe the 2 B’s have a trick or two up their sleeves.
