That feels kind of stupid. Do they really think he has enough value that him getting injured today would significantly impact his value? Oh no, he was worth a 4th and now he's hurt and only worth a 6th...
Gotta make sure you can reclaim that conditional 5th round pick!
He has always been better than Zappe
Not sure. The team is talking up Jones’s attitude with his new role a lot so that tells me they’re gonna try to sell him to some team.
Zappe has the edge so far ... albeit barely:
He has shown he can come in as a backup and not screw things up royally - maybe with more time in the league he can improve his mechanics and become a solid backup guy. He's taken a lot of hits and bounced right back up so I think he's pretty durable as well. The height and the arm are probably always going to be limitations but he runs the play as designed and reads the field reasonably well. Might be a poor man's Gardner Minshew, eventually.
A coach like BB who is under contract, should not be allowed to leave without compensation.
