Game Day Thread 2023 OFFICIAL GAME DAY THREAD: Week 3 - NE @ NYJ

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

There probably should be more comment on the weather. It is REALLY tough conditions with rain and a bit of wind.

1; Just shows how much a call can make of the DPI to Douglas. I can already see the key PI on the Psts for something FAR less.

The Joker always complained about the NYFL Jets alumni and their effect on the game. This one was clear and obvious. Carter hit him in the face TWICE before the ball, which was right on target, got there. They'll be a make up call all right, but on the Pats.

2. Didn't get to the game until 2:00 left in the first Just in time to see the obligatory holding call on the Pats to kill a promising drive. You were right Joker buddy, even from the other side

3. The Pats have this game in control, but in the NFL it takes just one play or one call that can turn the game around. We NEED to put points on the board with this first drive....to state the obvious

4. Mac made one bad pass that I saw to Henry that looked out of sorts. He's sticking in there and moving better. He's starting to see run opportunities and taking them. It will slow down rushes eventually,

More up tempo this half. Keep that DL on the field and tire them for the 4th.

Could've sworn you could, but I missed the news that they took away that ability after a year.
Inside two minutes hasn’t changed.

at least they tried to score at the end of the half, which is different than last year

Everyone hated it and complained about it constantly.

Also, it was only used to add on PI's, and never to take away PI's. Another unneeded crutch for offenses.

Still, you'd hope they'd be able to make obvious calls like that one.

Consider the way we've played, then imagine the result against a worthwhile team. That's the worrisome part.

The good news is that Mac Jones YPA is up to 7.8. Most of that came from the long 58 yard TD to Pharaoh. The bad news is that his completion rate is 50% at halftime. Mac Jones YPA without the Pharaoh bomb is only 4.9.

What this means? Mac needs to continue to push the ball down the field whenever he sees the opportunity.

Even with how badly the Jets have played, they are only down by 7 so the Patriots offense still needs to put in some work in the 2nd half. Scoring drives are needed!

Zeke looking great today too so far.

If current scores hold, the AFC would look like this (making an assumption that LV beats PIT, CIN beats LA, and KC beats CHI later):

AFCE: Dolphins 3-0, Bills 2-1, Patriots 1-2, Jets 1-2
AFCN: Ravens 2-1, Browns 2-1, Steelers 1-2, Bengals 1-2
AFCW: Chiefs 2-1, Chargers 2-1, Raiders 2-1, Broncos 0-3
AFCS: Colts 2-1, Texans 1-2, Jaguars 1-2, Titans 1-2

Only one 3-0 team and only six 2-1 teams, with three of them being in one division.
