Same idea for RB. Harris is coming up soon and White isn't getting younger and Bolden isn't here to pick up the slack. This is a very underrated need imo along with BU QB.
Who's unique? Cook, Hall, Rachaad White and Pierre Strong. There are others but they stand out.
2nd-3rd RD
James Cook - has basically been recruited since grade school. Big time recruit. Brother of Dalvin. Playing football since diapers. Track background. Arrested for dumb stuff - open container / no license or suspended license I forget.
One of the better rec backs in the draft that can also handle 10-15 carries a game. Displays nice patience, ability to press the line and is a plus zone runner. Runs crisp clean routes, he can take reps outside, slot, backfield. Smart runner that switches up tempo, doesn't fumble (2) and has nice acceleration of his cuts. Doesn't have Dalvin's contact balance or vision especially 2nd/3rd level he's much more one cut and burst. Won't run through real tackles but can break a few arm tackles and definitely make you miss. Ideal rec back that won't advertise plays. Could be killer in two back sets bc of his rec skills. Has to work on scanning field in pass pro too quick at times to find work instead of making sure it's his man.
Mid RD
Zamir White - from NC. Big time recruit one of the biggest in the nation at one point. One of the better HS runners over the last few years ran for almost 15 per clip SR year. Almost 130 rushing TD. Tore ACL SR year. Multiple knee injuries.
Powerful one cut runner with rocked up body. Runs through and over contact. Runs with good patience, awareness and physicality never goes down with one man. Brings it as well as he takes it. Sets examples in film room, weight room, practice and game day great locker room guy that is all about football. Inconsistent in pass pro UG didn't hide him but he didn't look comfortable in every situation. Definitely work to do there. He won't make you miss or necessarily make something out of nothing moves and making guys miss. Varies speed and stride length.
Late RD
Zonovan Knight - grew up in NC big time HS player & recruit with track background.
Inconsistent following his blocks but when he's on he's on. Very good when he follows the plan, runs with conviction and wants to finish.. Tough runner that can run through tackles good contact balance and a acceleration. Can make you miss & has soft hands. Route tree is limited but potential is there for an impact. Can return kicks and doesn't fumble.
Top 75-100
Brian Robinson - grew up a minute from Bama's campus born into the culture there. Had offers from everywhere but obviously went to Alabama.
Big, powerful runner with a chiseled up body. Used to RBBC. Knows his role. Big back with finish mentality. Can move a pile and gash a defense for 25-30 yards even though he doesn't have long speed. Plus ST player and locker room guy. All about football. Doesn't fumble.
Late-udfa
Kyren Williams - from St Louis. Did it all in HS. Rushing, Rec, played Saf had multiple INT.
Tough runner with good vision and awareness. Quick efficient feet that follows his blocks with the best of 'em. Plus rec ability that can work out the slot or backfield on quick routes. One of the better backs in pass pro as you'll see especially for his size. Fearless and great vision scanning the line like a clock. Tested very poorly.
