Ok. Sorry all. but Burks is now the ONLY WR I want in the 1st two rounds.. He's one tough /Crazy SOB..

i am not sold on burks, i wouldn't touch him in the first. Second maybe but Burks has issues the pats WR corps exactly need.
We need either guys who can seperate with terrific r/r or playmaking speed. Burks offer none of this imo. Yeah he has been a threat for deep catches but he won't force deep coverage like a Williams or the r/r like Wilson/Olave. We already have parker , i would like to see a complete different type of WR if the pats go WR early.

I'm not, either. When he launches at someone from the side as the go by, sure. but then he holds on.

He isn't a guy who takes on linemen i guess. To use his potential at best we need to let him run free and chase down ball carriers.

Concur with the Burks love. He would make a fantastic addition to the offense.

In rounds for the first two days I would place:

Burks/Williams round 1 (assuming Wilson is long goneby the time we pick)

Olave/Watson/Dotson/Moore/Pickens round 2

Robinson/Metchie round 3 (though I wouldn’t be too upset if they snagged either in the late 2nd)

I think he excels at Lg and could be a future top 5 center in this league better than Linderbaum. Johnson is the kind of guy who take and know what you get
- day 1 starter
- can help at LG and C
- really smart, good awareness , defensive line shifts won’t confuse him he recognize it and knows his assignments.
- good against stunts blitzes , blocks the DT on a stunt to the OT that the OT can take him and has enough quickness to take the DE
- is good in run and pass
- athletic pops up if you see him on the second level

It would seem that Johnson will fill two roster spots: OG and backup OC. We activate 8 OL's each week. If we have to, one is a backup center. It would seem that if we draft Johnson, he is the backup center

Not seeing it. At all.

Not sure what to say. I counted 3x on these clips here where he kept his feet and tried to drive through. My guess is that he’s been coached on compression tackling, which is great for his head and body. Like I said, I’m hopeful that he developed the strength to play the same way in the nfl. There’s a lot of highlights out there of him making his tackles by dragging/pulling a carrier down. Watch how few times he actually falls on top of his guys torso. You’ll see him typically on top of the hips/legs. If he continues that in the pros, I’m all good with it as long as he can do his squeeze and not have a cat breakthrough.

In 2 of the top 3 he does exactly what I’m talking about. He wraps his arms around the ball carrier, then either sits or gives up his legs to pull down. In the clip I’ve attached, you see it all over the place as well. He drags guys down more often than sticking and driving though. He’s a sure tackler and holds on. I’m excited to see how he’s developed. Just hope he has gotten stronger in that regard.

These aren't tackling dummies that are getting hit. These are some of the best RBs coming out of college. They are hitting McGrone and he's stopping them on first contact. I say all of one play where a running got extra yards after contact. And McGrone wasn't the first one to hit him.

This expectation you have of McGrone driving players back and into the ground isn't realistic.

These aren't tackling dummies that are getting hit. These are some of the best RBs coming out of college. They are hitting McGrone and he's stopping them on first contact. I say all of one play where a running got extra yards after contact. And McGrone wasn't the first one to hit him.

He makes contact many times and immediately begins sliding down if he does not go low initially. He squeezes and drags the guy down. That’s what I see, sounds to me like you are seeing the same thing.

I’ve also said that I’ve got no problem with it as long as during the year off he was able to build on his strength.

in the two years he played 2021 and 2019 he gavge up around 66 % completion percentage.
With this off field stuff he is a late day 3 guy imo.
