Eovaldi vs Cole.

Last time Eovaldi faced the Yankees in the playoffs: Red Sox 16 Yankees 1 :D

Last time Cole faced the Red Sox in the playoffs: L, 6 IP, 5 runs

Sox have won 7 of their last 8 vs NYY in the playoffs. Dunno about anyone else but I’m ready to see them make it 8 of 9. I like their chances.

I don’t think the Yankees are that good to be honest. Look at their lineup. LeMahieu out for the game. Only two good bats are Judge and Stanton. Rizzo is ok. Everyone else is below 100 OPS+. Meh. Cole is their only top shelf starter, everyone else is nothing special. They have a couple of good relievers - Loisiga and Holmes are sneaky good but not a lot else and Chapman isn’t that scary anymore.

Of course it’s only 1 game so anything can happen and I’m aware of what happened when they were in Fenway a couple weeks ago but I‘ll go with Red Sox 5 Yankees 2

JD not playing tonight because he tripped over 2nd base jogging to the outfield and sprained his ankle.

I guess Sale won't be coming in the game from the pen either...

Truly insane to lose a guy tripping over the base

Well, it's one game. For the Sox it's really about navigating Judge and (especially) Stanton. Would be nice to score some runs.

Unexpected hero? Let's go with Bobby Dalbec. I like a new "BD" finally shutting up MYY fans about Dent

Here are the full lineups:

BOSTON RED SOX (92-70)
Kyle Schwarber, DH
Kiké Hernández, CF
Rafael Devers, 3B
Xander Bogaerts, SS
Alex Verdugo, LF
Hunter Renfroe, RF
Kevin Plawecki, C
Bobby Dalbec, 1B
Christian Arroyo, 2B

Nathan Eovaldi, RHP (11-9, 3.75 ERA)

NEW YORK YANKEES (92-70)
Anthony Rizzo, 1B
Aaron Judge, RF
Giancarlo Stanton, DH
Joey Gallo, LF
Gleyber Torres, 2B
Brett Gardner, CF
Gio Urshela, 3B
Kyle Higashioka, C
Andrew Velazquez, S

Gerrit Cole, RHP (16-8, 3.23 ERA)

That NY lineup isn't that daunting, let's not have it be one of those games where it's 2-0 before the Sox bat

Watching the Yankees half with the sound off thought Stanton hit the ball to Lansdowne street and then couldn't believe he didn't get a double. Did the wind knock it down?

What did I miss. Go Sox.

Awesome. I hope we beat these damn Yankees 9-0

Come on Xander, hit another homer.

Good start… pour it on!
