Since people have been asking. . . .

The amounts in 2018 were:
  • Original-round tender: $1.91M
  • Second-round tender: $2.91M
  • First-round tender: $4.15M
The CBA mandates that those amounts will increase by the same percentage as the salary cap increase, up to 10%, with a minimum of 5%. So the ranges will be:
  • Original-round tender: $2.01M–$2.10M
  • Second-round tender: $3.06M–$3.20M
  • First-round tender: $4.36M–$4.56M
The exact values will be set in the next few months.

One last point: teams can use promises not to use a franchise/transition tag at the end of a contract as a tool to make a contract harder to match. If the Patriots add $500K to a first-round tender, then they do not have to match such promises.

Only Jon Jones and Gordon, I guess.

Cody Hollister is ERFA in the spring. Ferentz, too, I think.

If they want to keep JJ (which is perhaps something of a question now that he's been effectively benched for a game-and-a-half), I'd guess they'll go straight to a 2-year offer at $1.5M to $1.7M/year.

It seems obvious that they use the 1st-round tender on Gordon only if they can't work out a longer term deal before tenders are due.
