One last point: teams can use promises not to use a franchise/transition tag at the end of a contract as a tool to make a contract harder to match. If the Patriots add $500K to a first-round tender, then they do not have to match such promises.

- Original-round tender: $1.91M
- Second-round tender: $2.91M
- First-round tender: $4.15M
- Original-round tender: $2.01M–$2.10M
- Second-round tender: $3.06M–$3.20M
- First-round tender: $4.36M–$4.56M
