Game Day Thread 2018 Preseason G2: PHI @ NE

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

The corners and safeties that year were also abysmal. Leigh Bodden couldn't overcome an injury, Ras-I-Dowling went down, Merriweather and Sanders were cut. We had McCourty, Sterling Moore, Philip Adams, Sergio Brown, Edelman, Slater, Arrington, and Lockett? at DB. Hard to play good defense with that core. (I'm going off memory here but will look up the names later)

Bodden also couldn't play man-coverage worth a damn when he WAS healthy.

I suppose it's possible that Brown got the block wrong, but still, Dorsett's indecisiveness in the face of the unexpected is what killed the play.

Dorsett came too far inside, which is why the ball was high. Brown was probably in the right spot, Dorsett ran the route wrong.

Ball is high and Brown is out a little further with Dorsett a little too far inside. I think it is clear who made the mistake.

It’s his car, and he’s gonna drive it how he wants it. Lmao at him talking down to Todd Haley like Haley doesn’t have like ten times the wins as head coach.

Edit: Looked it up, Haley has 19x as many wins.

Jackson coached the Raiders in 2011 and went 8-8 (and was promptly fired).

I really wanted him to catch that.

No, you didn't.

With an interception on 4th down, the ball is turned over where the defender is downed (in this case, around the 1-yd line. If the pass is merely broken up, the ball is spotted out at the previous line of scrimmage.

It's almost always much smarter to just knock the ball down on a 4th-down pass than to intercept it, especially if it's a long pass. Then the PBU becomes almost like blocking a punt.

Sounds like Brittle Burkhead might be hobbled throughout the year.

I had remembered that shortly after posting that. He was actually one of their most successful coaches since that last Super Bowl run, strange they fired him after one season lol...I'd blame crazy Al but he was dead by that point.

Sounds like something that he can play through but will still hurt his effectiveness throughout the season. Since it's IRex, he'll probably sustain other injuries throughout the course of the year. Hopefully Michel is ready by Week 1.

Edge-contain, tackling ... covering. Crossen isn't allowing much separation, he's just effing up the end of the play. That can be fixed.
If Crossen and JC can shine in the 3rd preseason game, Jason McCourty might need to call unemployment.

I can see them carrying 6 DBs until Jules comes back.

Gilmore
Rowe
Dawson
JJ
Crossen
JC Jackson (bad 57 yard reception last night but I dont think he played poorly)

Burkhead is consistently unavailable once he gets any sort of momentum. Rather have paid Dion if he's always going to be hurt.

Mark’s bowl cut has taken on a mind of his own and speaks crazy things to him sometimes from what I hear.

Interesting...Poor Coradelle came into the league at the wrong time. He'd def have gotten 50+ mill from the Raidahs during the senile Al era.
