Rask was outstanding last night. And he'll have to be outstanding every night - as in, one goal or less allowed p/g - in order for the Bs to have a realistic chance of winning the series, especially when considering the injuries which have all of a sudden appeared. The defense has been particularly beset; I don't know what 3 pairs Butch will cobble-together for the rest of the series, but it is now guaranteed that McAvoy will be part of one of those. And for some reason, the Bs just cannot seem to be able to score 3 goals against this not-really-that-impressive team, and losing Krejci for any length of time will not help that problem, especially when his replacement is the utterly useless, never-will-be Sean Kuraly.

I stopped watching after the first goal, which was a total team (lack of) effort. First Marchand misses a wide-open net, then Tooka We Should've Kept Martin Jones Instead Of Rask gets undressed at the other end.

The draft can't come soon enough, beacuse the 0ther 3 teams are completely effed-up, dysfunctional, gutless embarassments - from the top all the way to the bottom.

I think if they were healthy they would win this series. I'm more optimistic about the team going forward.

1. The team played better under Butch than it did under the Clod; I'd give him one one more year, so he can run a full TC the way he wants it run. Let's see if that makes any difference.

2. Krejci, Backes & Beleskey are among several players I would leave exposed for the expansion draft. Others (if eligible) include Rask, Hayes, McQuaid, Chara & Liles.

3. Ownership - if they even care - really need to find somebody who knows how to find people who can play, because it's beyond obvious now that SweeNeely aren't the ones for the job.
