Develin is so underatted. His last year IR was huge blow for team run offense.

RB and OL are about the only two potential weaknesses on the roster so an extra blocker wouldn't go amiss at all. Whether he loses out to a numbers game, considering we'll be spending a lot of time in 12 formation is another matter. Develin likely wouldn't get that many snaps.

The defensive line group looked good against its offensive counterpart. Malcom Brown and Markus Kuhn were particularly strong at the point of attack on the interior. Terrance Knighton was also hard to move, eating up blocks and holding his ground.

Same link as above.

Someone said that Jamie Collins was their no1 FA priority. That's fully understandable, but whilst it's very close, Hightower is mine.

Agreed. Collins makes the bigger plays but Hightower has more consistency with his impact.

My order

#1 Hightower
#1b Collins
#3 Sheard
#4 Vollmer (still have no backup.. need him a few more years)

After that it is arguable.

Nink, Branch, Bennett. Knighton, Harmon, Ryan. All big names we will have to deal with

Losing Ryan/Harmon hurts but it depends how much the young DBs improve in 1 year.
Nink/Branch matter but are both getting older
Bennet/Knighton are perhaps just 1 year rentals anyway but might be worth taking a look at extending.

Butler? Or do you think they'll just slap a first round tender on him?

I would love them to sign deals with Bennett (as long as it works out and he's a good soldier) and Harmon although I don't think they will with Harmon unfortunately.

I wouldn't be surprised if they slapped a first round tender on him. I would like them to resign him but he is not an URFA so i didn't include him.

Like you, I'm okay with the first round tender. A new long-term deal would be great but Butler for just over 3m next year strikes me as a good deal. When you are in a situation where, barring a serious injury, your worst case scenario nets you a first round pick, you're in a pretty good situation.

Oh no. This isn't good, career wise or life wise. Seems like Andrews will get the job.

I'm happy to be right about Andrews, but not necessarily for this reason. Stork should give some hard thought to whether or not he should continue to play the sport. With everything that has been coming out the past few years about just how traumatic the sport can be to some (if not all) brains I do not know if the wise choice would be to continue.

And as it relates to the rest of the team . . . if Andrews goes down or has a sophomore slump, and both are entirely possible, we might be in some trouble. Thuney has played the position. Can Cardona do anything there? I doubt that since long snappers are often built differently. We may need to be looking at the waiver wire. d%#*!@t, if this OLine cost the team another championship or two, I'm gonna lose it - WR's in 2006, OLine in 2007 (I know some will say defense), DB's in 2011 and OLine in 2015. The Pats could easily and realistically have eight rings right now.

#SignTheBeast

FINALLY SOME JAMIE COLLINS NEWS!!! I have asked about him in each of the last three TC camp threads. Please stay healthy, my man. We need you. I love watching Collins play. It's hard to watch every player on a play, but my eyes often find him . . . and High. I love our stud LB's. The Pats better find a way . . .

They've worked Kline and Karras in that spot and wouldn't be surprised if Mason and Cooper get reps there too.
