NYJFLN just (mis)reported that Edelman left "on a cart". The talking heads are already proceeding like this is huge blow to the Patriots offense (which it would be if Edelman is indeed out indefinitely through the season).

I believe the rule changed this year. Do not need to designate returning player, but only one player can return from IR.

We do not even know what this "lower left leg" injury is. Could be a day-to-day issue as opposed to something serious that would warrant IR-DTR.
