I don't get Scruggs being listed as a TE.. He was a DE with the Seahawks and Bears.. Kinda surprised they let Hughes go when Hughes is supposed to be good in run support..

Strangely, Chicago decided to convert him to TE this past offseason -- very unusual for a guy who's already been in the league for several years. I don't think we can read anything at all into this signing until we know whether they're looking at him on offense or defense.

Bolden injury adds a wrinkle. While it is apparently not season ending, he will miss a while. It has been suggested that he could go to IR to open a roster spot for Brady/Nink. Since they need a back-up RB for Blount and Boldens ST role, and White/Foster are not that, they still need another RB. With Sankey on the PS I think he gets activated for Sun. Also, Freeny's shoulder looked like he would be out for a while. Could be some interesting roster moves this week.

We need a DT and a RB. We could activate Johnson and Sankey. We could sign Hughes if he wasn't picked up.

Agreed, if Jimmy is ready to go. I'd hate to see our QB depth chart be GOAT and Edelman!

I think that tells us two things, the Pats like AJ Derby and they want to keep Brissett on the 53 man roster.
