Stars are always found in later rounds (Tom Brady, Julian Edelman, Alfred Morris) and after the draft (Welker, Foster, Ellerbe, Cruz, Blount, Herzlich, Burfict) and recently BB and NE have been very busy in UDFA and succeeding finding talents such as Brian Hoyer (starting QB), Brandon Bolden (FedEX GPOW in 2012), Ryan Allen (Starting P), Kenbrell Thompkins (forever in Patriots' and Brady lore), and Joe Vellano (quality job at DT when called upon). Recent high profile signings also include KT, Moe, and Sudfeld. This year's draft class is very deep resulting in many potential talented UDFAs, however NE already has a pretty loaded (talent-wise) roster yet lots of spots for more players. Which projected UDFAs would you like to see in NE? (even just for training camp)

My handful of potential UDFAs I want in NE (I'll note) or just in NFL include:
QB Tom Savage
QB Tahj Boyd (can totally see him with NYJ)
QB Stephen Morris
RB Silas Redd
RB Henry Josey (want badly in NE, most explosive player in class, KR)
RB Ben Malena
RB Prince-Tyson Gulley (would like to see in NE camp, speed, versatility)
WR Shaq Evans
WR Eric Ward
WR Jeremy Gallon (want DRAFTED by NE, major steal for BB, so much to like)
TE Jacob Pedersen (wouldn't mind seeing him drafted by NE, lot to like)
TE Jake Long (would like to see at NE camp too)
C Jonatthan Harrison (reminds me of Pouncey, wouldn't mind him in NE camp)
OG Marcus Hall (If only Dante could help this guy, lot of potential)
OG Dallas Lee
OT Kenarious Gates
OT Matt Hall (******* monster)
That offense could give the NYJ's a run for their money alone (only half-kidding)
I'll add some defensive prospects later, maybe a few STs

Some of my favourite prospects are potential UDFA's this year:

Kenny Guiton
Joe Clancy
Nikita Whitlock
Zach Moore
Zach Kerr
Damian Copeland
Brandon Wimberly
Qua Cox
Jeremy Butler
Darrin Reaves

Lawrence Virgil

Casey Pachall

I am looking forward to 'day four' almost as much as I am the draft.

I had a theory when it comes to the UDFA that the Patriots sign straight after the draft, and at least in terms of the past three drafts, it bears out.

Basically, the theory is that we sign players in UDFA from big schools and or big conferences. No high upside small schoolers here.

Following the last three drafts, the Patriots have signed 36 UDFA. Of those 29 were from the major conferences (ACC, Big-12, Big Ten, PAC-12, SEC). Of those that weren't two were Special Teamers and all the non premier conference udfas were still Division-1 FBS players.

This is good news for me with regards Kenny Guiton, Nikita Whitlock and Kevin Pamphile, bad news in terms of my liking for Terrence Fede, Zach Kerr and Lawrence Virgil.

Worth bearing in mind when projecting UDFAs for the Patriots.

Also bad news for me while hoping Albert Wilson will receive a call from the Patriots.

Good news for Henry Josey, Jordan Hall, Prince-Tyson Gulley, Ben Malena, and Jeremy Gallon (in case this league is dumb enough to not select him)

I would bet that all of those QB's will get picked by someone late in the draft at least.

I certainly think Boyd and Savage will, Morris I think will be lucky if he gets into the back of the 7th round. Savage in particular has been getting a lot of love lately and could go higher than expected, maybe the 4th round ahead of some bigger names like Aaron Murray.

Andrew Jackson, ILB, Western Kentucky (probably go in the 6/7th round)
Derrell Johnson, OLB, East Carolina
Jonathan Newsome, OLB, Ball St
E.J. Gaines, CB, Missouri (probably go in the 5/6th round)
Alden Darby, S, Arizona St.
Jake Metz, DE, Shippensburg
Ben Gardner, DE, Stanford
Khyri Thornton, DT, Southern Miss
Gator Hoskins, TE, Marshall
Lorenzo Taliaferro, FB, Coastal Carolina
Dri Archer, RB, Kent St. (probably go in the 5/6th round)
Devin Street, WR, Pittsburgh (probably go in the 6/7th round)
Matt Hazel, WR, Coastal Carolina
Jeremy Gallon, WR, Michigan (probably go in the 6/7th round)

I agree except for Morris, Savage will go to a team that needs a back-up and I wouldn't be shocked to see NYJ pick up Boyd in the late sixth
