I just saw that the 49ers released DL Lawrence Okoye. He was the British discus Olympian who they signed as a UDFA last year. Spent last year on IR. 6' 5 1/4" 304#, 4.84 40, 1.67 10-split, 36" VJ, 10'7" BJ. I'm still intrigued by his raw physical tools.

I remember him but aren't the 9ers desperate for DL depth now?

With reports of multiple QB-needy teams showing interest, hopefully it was for more than that. Otherwise, it probably wasn't worth moving him.

Probably not, though reports were that he had showed considerable progress in training camp this year and that Harbaugh liked what he saw.
