5-2 this season vs teams with a winning record right now. And 5 of our last 6 games are against teams with a winning record.

2011 Patriots made the Super Bowl and were 0-2 in the regular season against such teams.

If we get back, nobody can say we didn't earn it or we only beat soft teams to get there...

Not to mention 3-0 against current division leaders.

And the only reason it's not 4-0 is because the Pats victory knocked the Lions out of the top spot.

This year is starting to look eerily similar to 2010. Hopefully it doesn't end the same way.

One of my all time favorite teams, but they overachieved and Brady had one of the best seasons of all time and only unanimous MVP selection that year. 4 INTs all year unbelievable

I wouldn't say they overachieved. They were pretty clearly the best team in the NFL by a wide margin, blowing out plenty of good teams both at home and on the road. That playoff loss still hurts me more than either of the Giants SB losses.

Woah woah Slow down there. Hold your horses. I guess you've the right to your opinion but in my mind absolutely NOTHING compares to the hurt of the '07 season SB loss to the Giants. It's the only time I recall a sporting event truly impacting my regular day-to-day life. Man what a horrible, horrible loss. And then to lose to them a second time? Yeah both of those REALLY sucked. Win either and Brady is the uncontested GOAT. We may never get the luxury of such a thing now.

Per Elias:
The Pats became the first team in NFL history to win three straight games by 20 or more points, each against an opponent with a record at least three games above the .500 mark.

Couldn't agree more, RA.

How so?

Don't even compare the defenses....It's not even close. 2010 lived of turnovers. 2014 they stop people.

Offense? You can say that Brady is not as good but the 2014 surrounding cast is better. RBs, WRs, TE. O-line might be a toss-up.

2014 special teams is dominant.

Cosign. The jets loss was also mitigated somewhat by the fact that the Jets dominated from the moment that Brady overthrew BJGE. Both Giants losses were looking like wins until the final minute.

The 2006 AFC Championship game was a worse loss than the Jets one IMO. Pats probably shouldn't have been in that game but the way it happened was a real gut punch.

The 2010 team's 2nd half success basically relied on 2 things: (1) Brady playing at a near-flawless level, and (2) the defense forcing turnovers at an incredible rate. Unfortunately, it was hard to rely on those 2 things continuing throughout the playoffs, and they didn't.
