I never said he was responsible for the injury,
but he is responsible for trading for
a 29 year old receiver on the decline.

That is a very small window for a first round pick

He was not as good last year as previous years.

Do you expect him to get better with age?

Besides Wolf hasn’t been in charge of personnel since 2024. They’ve done well for themselves last offseason and this one.

I'm not writing Doubs off just yet - he can run X, Y or Z routes out there as we've seen in the past.

I got excited about the playcalling Josh could run with him in the game to confuse the D

But that would mean Josh has to call something other than a vanilla game plan (and Doubs needs to make his catches too)

At this point, like last year, Josh is calling a game that looks like pre-season vanilla when you don't want to tip your hat as to any more inventive plays. For now we and the D all know when a run play is coming and when a pass play is coming and that when the OL collapses, Maye can sometimes get a first down with his feet.

I didn't expect them to win last night, but they let a golden opportunity go away, and I blame the playcalling primarily.

As far as Boutte, yeah, with Brown out I'd love to still have him - but you can't really hold a player hostage on the bench when he has a chance to have a big year elsewhere.

In the off-season, I would have been happy to stand pat on the receivers. They really weren't the problem last year. On the other hand, trying to fix the offensive line was surely right. If it's not good after spending two first rounders, a third rounder, as well as a lot of money on Bradbury and Vera-Tucker, then the Pats either need a new offensive line coach or a new GM.

I've said time and again that I think Wolf ought to go. After 2024 there was a case for sacking Wolf for bad performance and keeping Mayo in the hope that he would grow with better personnel management. There was also a case for sacking both. But sacking Mayo and keeping Wolf? No justification for that at all.

So now the Pats are like so many other franchises. Power is divided and different people are using journalists to put their side of the story out.

Schefter and others were talking about there being "those in the organization" who thought such-and-such about the Gonzalez negotiation, for instance. Say what you like about the Belichick regime, but it did not leak. If you heard something about what people inside the organization were thinking it must have come from BB (or, quite rarely, Mr Kraft shooting the breeze with one of his spa buddies).

Many are wondering why he is still here after the 2024 season. Signing Barmore, Owenu, Rham, Dugger was beyond stupid. Prior to that they re-signed Bourne coming off an ACL right before FA started, only to balk at Ridley's demands of wanting $1M more. That draft was an all time blunder.

They really got lucky to get bailed out of the Dugger contract after one season. Owenu gave money back.

Well....I blame Wolf for the 2024 draft....he couldn't miss on Maye, OK....and I would have picked Maye if I were the GM too. But the rest of that draft? Nothing!

For the 2025-2026 draft, that was more of a collaboration though. So, the jury is still out on that... for the 2025 draft, we netted 5 starters in: Ashby, Borregales, Campbell, Wilson, and Woodson. And we still have Kyle Williams and Marcus Bryant.

The 2026 draft....Jacas already made some plays, Rairdon had our only TD last night, and Lomu will get some OL play sooner rather than later, IMO.

Free agency? Yeah, in 2024 Dugger and Bourne probably should have not been extended. Gibson was a good signing before he got hurt. 2025, Milton Williams...great signing.... Landry III too....Carlton Davis... Spillane....and Moses...5 starters. In 2026....we traded for Brown...he was well on his way to a 7-80-1TD line last night, IMO. Doubs is a bad signing in light of last night's game.... AVT seemed ok last night....Der'Mont Jones seemed serviceable and Keith Byard is a good signing. Gillman too....and too bad Hill got hurt.

Overall.....2024 draft was bad except for the "lay up" Maye pick. And it is why we had to sign so many players in 2025's free agency.

Anything from 2023-2020....I can't blame him...he worked for BB. And a side note: BB made a really good draft pick with Christian Gonzalez...remember he traded back....and let Broderick Jones get selected by the Steelers when we needed an OL-man too...and the Skins took Forbes..... and we also took Boutte, Barringer, and Pop Douglas that draft too....

Vrabel has final say and he relies heavily on Ryan Cowden. Watch Forged in Foxboro season 1, they are in the draft room and Wolf is on the phone with another team, he turns to Vrabel and Cowden to ask for the approval to proceed.
