There is a 0% chance that Belichick would have drafted Drake Maye. He would have taken 2 first round picks for him, let alone 3.

A few things I have been thinking about this offseason.

First, a lot of teams are going to be sucking for Arch, but I have been wondering if he didn't have the Manning name would any team want to suck for the guy. What has Arch Manning done thus far to tell us that he is going to be a QB the quality of either of his uncles?

Second, thinking back to the 2024 draft, there were a lot of people wanting to trade back with the Vikings and take JJ McCarthy. Maybe if Belichick was still doing the draft, that could have happened. Watching him this preseason, I wonder if he is even a viable back QB. There are rumors that the Vikings will cut him (I doubt it, but who knows?).

Personally, as someone who isn't a draftnick and knew nothing about Maye or McCarthy other than what I might have read or heard from others, I was open to trading down for the right price. At this point the only QB worth taking in that range is Bo Nix (who I think is overrated and vastly inconsistent). I am glad no one on the Patriots were listening to me that night.

That said, we were never offered a ransom that would have got me thinking hard about a trade, not even close.

And after seeing what Eliot Wolf does when he has free reign in a draft, he likely would have blown the king’s ransom if we got it.

This is great …..and so ACCURATE (unlike Tua) ….. once he got Tyreek Hill… He became a decent quarterback… As soon as he lost Tyreek Hill, he returned to the average at best quarterback he really is.

I still don't understand the logic anyone had for taking the Vikings' offer. Basically they had a 100% chance of either Maye or Daniels (they correctly felt, BTW, that the Commies wanted #5[TM]).

But the Vikings' offer was basically, to go YOLO instead: to trade down to a point where all the top 3 QBs would definitely be gone, and possibly all six first-rounders. . . . so they could get a QB when, exactly? Especially if they did "build for" the QB and end up with a mid-round pick.
