Still crazy to me this time last year we probably could lock in about half the day one starters. Fast forward to now and we know pretty much every starter out of the 22 and have a QB coming off a season where he was a couple votes shy of MVP.

Probably both. Mahomes is #18 and he was the 23rd rated QB in the league last year...

Yeah, there wouldn’t be a lot to draw on from Drake‘s career. It’s more just taking into account what’s available

If I had to guess, probably some weight to the entire career (hence Mahomes' rating), some weight to projected performance, and probably the highest weight to how they did last year. Notice, I was vague by saying "some weight", because some players get the beneficial ratios, like Mahomes, while others are weighted differently. Whether it's a purely analytical call or a product of marketing priorities is in the eye of the beholder...

...and we know how that goes.

And I just saw that he is ranked 11 on the top players under 25 yrs old. That obviously does not jibe with this list, and I think it is too low.
