We finally got a stud.

I told my wife about it and she had no idea who or what I was talking about. And my kids didn't care either.
So I'm sharing it with y'all.
Thanks!

First thing I read on Sunday mornings is Mike Reiss' column.
When I read those stats on Brown, I felt very encouraged.
So I came here to post what both of y'all posted.
Pats fans who loved the trade and especially
those who were less than enthusiastic due to injury concerns should also feel encouraged by this.
Brown accomplished this during an alleged "down" year.
With Hurts at qb and Philly's current offense.
My question for any doubters is" What the hell do you think he'll do this season with Maye at qb and McD's offense?
Yeah, he adds an element we didn't have last year. I'm all for keeping Boutte too but he doesn't get the separation that Brown does. All the nonsense talk concerning how AJ Brown is slipping.

While the 30 cliff is definitely a real thing, my sense of it is that big possession receivers are less likely to suffer from it than the speedsters. Guys like Anquon Bolden didn't start dropping off until he was 35, and like Brown he was 6'1 220., Larry Fitzgerald 6'3 218, same thing, didn't drop off until 35, Andre Johnson 6'3 229, didn't drop off until 34. I think it's likely that A.J. Brown will follow this pattern. He might not be a 1,400 yard receiver for the next 5-6 years, but we should see a really stable and productive run for him during his time with the Patriots.
Davante Adams had his Best year to date @ age 29.Hopefully he remains 28 for the next 5 years.
You still have to go up against different receivers or CB’s in the regular season. But when you go up against the Top CB or WR daily it has to strengthen your game. Like when you were younger and you play against kids that were 2 years older than you daily in the parks. When you played kids your age you dominated. You learned how to survive then thrive. It's cool to think of Gonzalez lining up across Brown every practice. The best CB in the league (imo, yes it's a homer take, but not a crazy one) now gets to practice against one of the best WR's In the league.
In theory it makes sense: the better your team is, the better it gets through practice, because it's constantly used to top talent. But I wonder if that actually translates or no?
I do remember always getting excited when you'd hear about Brady losing his **** in camps because he was getting picked off and pass defended. It was a nice preview of what would become very sound, stingy secondaries in the regular season.
Hopefully he remains 28 for the next 5 years.
Absolutely disgusting behavior from our so-called “1 receiver” Now I realize why Philly fans were so irate towards him at the end of his tenure. Release him without pay & sign Terrion Arnold immediately…
