2026 Red Sox Thread

Thinking back to the trade deadline, Rutschmann has yet to work out, but Eli White, Erik Miller and Jahmai Jones have made solid contributions. And then there's Curtis Mead and his potential 25+ HRs for next year. Not bad.

Yeah, the infield depth from the beginning of this year to the beginning of next is night and day. From a weakness to a potential strength.

White and Jones have both made contributions but The Man is Miller.
His stats over tge last 2 months are nearly identical, in fact, better than another Miller. As in Mason Miller, the best reliever in mlb. Erik has been slightly better than Mason over the past couple months. And it's continued with us.
The 3headed monster of Chapman,Miller and Whitlock could be the best in mlb.
Huge in the playoffs. And the Sox might possibly be adding another stud reliever in October. Guy named Crochet.

We'll see, hopefully the latest crew can continue, but Story and others are coming back...
Story SUX at SS, should be a 2b at this point IMHO.
People can say what they want about Mona, but 1 of the best things, is being CLUTC, instead of awesome.
That dude IS Clutch.

I agree. Rutschmann will come around.

We gave up the hope of an All-star pitcher for solid contributors. Some posters hate to give up on the hope of a pitcher in AA ball. I am OK with it. The same posters talk about the Babe Ruth or Jeff Bagwell trades, but they don't mention the other 100 trades where the AA or AAA prospect flamed out.

We will see. But Eyanson looked like the real deal. I was dreaming of a Big 3 of Crochet, Tolle and Eyanson. All young; starting pitching is the single most important thing in baseball- always has been, always will be.
I hope Rutschman can a. Stay healthy & b.
be somewhat productive. I have my doubts if he'll ever be a decent hitter. He is a great catcher though and an upgrade over what we had. But at what cost? I think the Red Sox are going to really regret this trade in a few years.
Hope Im wrong.

"Was dreaming" is the key phrase. The Red Sox are being pragmatic, not dreaming. You might be right, only time will tell.

Micky Gasper is great because every run feels like a bonus. Jarren Duran is so frustrating because you have to sit through a whole game of swings and misses knowing he's capable of what happened last night. Well done to both.

They have made a deal with the devil. The only possible explanation

It looks as if we two will never be one
Something must be done
You say The Devil, I say John Henry
You say The Devil and I say John Henry
The Devil, John Henry, The Devil, John Henry
Let's call the whole thing off, yes
