OJ Howard On The Trading Block Per Report

If this guy is really all that good, shouldn’t they keep him..?

I really don't know what you are debating.
It seems to me that you are claiming the Patriots can shelve Gronkowski indefinitely due to the fact that he missed an entire season. You have stated "Its's up to the NEP if they want to remove him from the reserve/retired list. Gronk can say he wants to come back all he wants. He is powerless." If I am misunderstanding your thesis, please feel free to set me straight but it sure sounds to me that you think the Patriots could shelve him indefinitely.

My contention is that if Gronk reports to the team at the start of training camp, the Patriots will have to pay him by week 1 or unload him. I also contend the same applies if he reports during the season prior to November 30 (give or take a couple weeks grace period).

I am not going to argue the bureaucracy involved in returning. The Patriots can stall, but only for a very short period of time. They cannot shelve him indefinitely. They would have to decide by week 1 whether to piss or get off the pot.

Certainly a possibility if he came back. He would be the best TE on the team by far. Having said that, I do not know if they would feel he justified a $9 million cap hit.

They shoulda traded Brady! BB is losing it!

Its ovah for Brady in NE and ovah for Gronk.

I dont want that big doofus and his drama muddying up the waters in 2020. Go to Tampa, Florida and entertain the crowd down there. 31 year old Frat boy.

NE no longer controlled Bradys rights.

Contract expired. The Pats should receive a compensatory pick.

Depends on your definition of indefinite/short period of time. Weeks? Months? All depends how unreasonable each side wants to be (which I do not expect).

1. If Gronk shows up to Gillette and wants to be activated and get paid by the NEP they can:
-Tell him to follow the process and in the meantime seek a trade.

2. If Gronk shows up to Gillette and demands to be released, the NEP can:
-Tell him to follow the process, seek a trade and NEP demand % of signing bonus back and tell him they aren't releasing him: See 1st part, #2

3. If Gronk shows up to Gillette and demands to be traded, the NEP can:
-Tell him to follow the process and seek a trade and NEP demand % of signing bonus.

Buca have 2 tight ends who are good so will want to move Howard.
