I had one ten years ago. Although a lot of it has to do with genes, it's a wake up call to re-examine your lifestyle in order to maximize what you've got.

Had a triple bypass 10 yrs ago......Angina attack alerted docs....was up and walking around in short order and only spent a week in the unit.......took a while for recovery but was back at desk job within 3 weeks........funny part was my mom picked me up and I strapped into the rear seat.She was sooo nervous and I told her to calm down. She ended up rear ending a guy trying to make a turn....after exchanging papers I almost told her I'd drive...LOL Another nervous nellie....

I had Angina but docs call it a heart attack....... Drove myself to ER and nurse on duty brought me right in to talk to docs and run tests...I guess my gray palor tipped them off I had a problem ..LOL 3 arteries to the heart severely clogged.....no damage to heart...stents were an option to assist in opening arteries for blood flow...I took the surgery route with the triple bypass. No more train tracks down the leg from stitches/staples to close up the vein removal..they make a small incision and and use a cutting probe to pull out the vein they need to perform the bypass.......many weeks of recovery from the old procedure reduced to a week or less....Isn't technology great ! North Shore Medical has awesome surgeons and facilities....
