Patriots 2018 Hall of Fame Finalists Announced

So the majority of the nomination committee have fallen for Kraft and his endless "Since 1994..." rant is ringing in their ears.

Nothing at all against our players from the last 17 seasons; but Chuck Fairbanks, Russ Francis, Leon Gray and especially Julius Adams deserve enshrinement before any of the modern candidates.

No they don't. Light, Seymour, and Vrabel all deserve it more. They may not have waited as long but have way more to do with the success of this franchise then those you mentioned.

But screw that flying Elvis thing.

Always concerns me when Darryl Stingley is passed over, need to be considered somewhere along the line..

But if the choices are Seymour, Vrable and Light.. have to go with Light.

That’s a tough choice. Seymour was the best player of the three, but had an early exit. Light meanwhile was a lifelong Patriot. Vrabel may have also spent time in Pitt and KC, but left New England on better terms than Seymour.

Really wouldn’t complain about any of the three making it.

Sey was here 8 years Light 11 and Vrabel 8. Tenure should be a non-issue.

I'd say Light, but I could see Vrable just so they can do a highlight reel of him on the jumbo tron right before the kick off with the Titans game this year, probably inter-spliced with shots of Butler crying on the bench during the super bowl. BB psych warfare.

Not the length of time, but the manner in which he left.
What manner was that? He got traded over $ why is that such an egregious thing?
They all belong in(I hope you agree?) so let's not hold grudges.

If you want to argue Light protecting TB was a bigger a contribution I can live with that. I think Seymour's play on those great Ds makes him more deserving by a hair.

I voted for Light. He is a career Patriot, protected the GOAT, Helped us win 3 Superbowls.

I’d say Seymour, he has Pro Football Hall of Fame potential (although not likely, Jimmy Johnson isn’t in and Dungy is..).

You could make a case that without stalwarts like Julius manning that D-line, the franchise would have eroded even quicker than it did.

Give a lot of credit to the guys that brought the franchise back from the 1982 Erhardt disaster, and also managed to overcome the 1986 cocaine binge. Julius Adams, Steve Nelson, Ray Clayborn, Stanley Morgan, etc.

Plus Julius was a better player and spent his whole career in New England. That should count for a lot.

They all absolutely belong in. I’m just referring to which one should be picked to go in first.

And, opioids are not addictive.

All the nominees are great. Richard retired five years ago; Matt six and Mike seven.

Fairbanks, Francis, Gray and Adams not only contributed more to the success of the franchise; they pioneered winning in Foxborough and established the Patriots as championship contenders in the post-merger era...Champions, but for Dreith.

That the owner was financially inept and the team, just like today, inundated by baseless denigration and bias from the media and opponents has nothing to do with them.

I never understood the rationale of electing only one candidate per year, if they're deserving put all of them in.
It's okay; I'm just sick and tired of these people pretending the past doesn't exist...

"We...used to...um...yeah..."

Reiss, for example, talks about a guy's contributions on and off the field (not to mention sacrifices and character); then in same breath says Parcells should be in. Yeah, sure, in...2043, maybe...
