Robert Kraft on Tom Brady: 'We hope he prevails'

"Look, we've been behind him and he’s…the whole thing has been mishandled in my opinion and its unfortunate and we hope we prevails"

I don't know about anyone else but to me that sounds kinda pathetic. And who is "we"?

If you're not going to do anything about it then please stop talking about it Bob.

Freudian typo....
Look, we know where Kraft stands, with the other owners and Goodell and anything he says is lip service and for the PR aspect of it. This was carefully crafted to be ambiguous.
Basically meh, whatever......

its bad for Kraft if brady loses but just terrible for him/league if he wins

I'm thinking about saying some not so nice things about Kraft in this thread. IC, archstanton, and OhExaulted1 need to be on high alert. You never know when a less than glowing post is coming. Just remember that. I'm lurking in the weeds with a harsh post and you don't know when it's going to hit.

He's a billionaire with FU money. The fact that he hasn't sued league and tried to get Goodell fired is sickening. He should be making Goodell's life a living hell and leaking everything against him.

I just don't understand how someone can be such a wuss.

Ironically, Brady seems happy enough with Kraft. I don't get it but obviously Brady knows what's going on more than I do. Maybe it's just something he has to do to stay with the team.

I think Brady is handling this well, hiring the big boys to fight this and acting like a professional in this firestorm. He has stayed resiliant and acted like a pro. I'm sure he thinks less of Kraft, quite frankly he probably didn't even care about him at all in the first place.

Kraft looks like his breath is less than satisfactory.

What do you expect from him? I guess he does not even want to be part of this.

"We hope he prevails" translates as "You're on your own". I have understood why Kraft hasn't sued and Brady and him seem to have a good relationship. But statements like this make Kraft look awful.

That could well be. I guess giving him the cold shoulder (or slugging him) probably wouldn't end well. He's a hell of a lot more mature about this stuff than I would be.

When the subject of Deflategate is broached by Kraft, this is what I see/hear/read:

This is kind of related I guess :

Thumbs up for TB12, thumbs down for the "organization".

We all know that talk is cheap, but even in the realm of talk this is especially cheap talk. This is roughly equivalent to a "mistakes were made" non-apology. This doesn't even qualify as criticism or support, it's just spineless, noncommittal PR-speak.

Until/unless he acknowledges that the commissioner that works for him is a disingenuous fool on a power trip who's intent on enforcing punishment based on something that never happened, nothing he has to say about this will move the needle.

What's the Springsteen line, "poor man wanna be rich. Rich man wanna be king. King ain't satisfied til he owns everything.?" At some point in life, there are things more important than money, one of them being principles. As someone noted, once you have FU money, you have even more leverage to stand for your principles even if it costs you money.....
You have to choose sides and even if you're torn, we see which side Kraft has chosen. Yes, he's an owner and Brady is suing him but it is the chumminess with Goodell that is more troubling. There are ways to send signals, non-verbally that you are po'ed at someone and get a message across. Glad handling and hugging sends the opposite signal. I know I'm beating a dead horse here but to not support the guy who is largely responsible ( with BB) for your success over the last 15 years is unacceptable. you remember the people who stood with you in times of need, and those who didn't.
rant over....
