Not sure if this has been mentioned, but one of the benefits of putting Lewis on the PUP list, is that it opens up a roster spot for a rookie player, that you may want to stash on the practice squad if they clear waivers.

it was but it was ignored
i guess stashgate can wait

apparently he played a charity basketball game:

Patriots hit the basketball court for a good cause - The Boston Globe

From left: Trey Flowers, Kelsey Greeley of Honda Village, Dion Lewis, Tom Silva of Honda Village; and Jabaal Sheard at the Newton North High School Celebrity Basketball Game.

OT: Kelsey seems kinda small. Anyone know her 3-cone time?

my bad

well, at least both Flowers and Blount played!

I heard that due to the fact that Kraft doesn't support the fans of the this team, that you'll continue on as Official Board Troll.

I can't think of one thread that he's posted on where he didn't bring the subject up. He's a broken record and Kraft is lucky to have him.

Where is Christian at!? We need a scoop on Lewis!

Patriots RB Dion Lewis' recovery has him on track for season opener

Some close to Lewis feel that he's about one month away from being able to play in a game, which naturally means that his availability for the season opener Sept. 11 in Arizona is looking good at this point (assuming no unexpected setbacks).

~7 month recovery time for an ACL? Wow.

Still no need. Maybe give him a handful of snaps in Ausgust just so he develops some confidence in game situations but thats it.

Awesome news.

A 100% Dion Lewis for the opener could be the difference between a win and a loss especially if Jimmy G is at QB. Great security blanket for a young QB in that environment.

It's about the same as Welker tearing his Week 17 (early January) and playing in the preseason.

Unrelated, I had a dream the other day that Lewis was on the Giants. It sucked. That's all.

Yes and I thought WW wasn't really 100% until the end of that 2010 season. With that said he was clearly healthy enough to play.

Not sure it matters from a rehab timeline standpoint but I think WW tore ACL & MCL...

Every Pat fan breathes a sigh of relief if Dion is GTG for the Ariz game......

My nightmare would be Chandler Jones pancakes his man slams Lewis to the turf Lewis fumbles Chandler returns for td and Lewis is on the ground writhing in pain.

Lewis has a strong timeline to be ready, he's half a season ahead of where Welker was. Also, Gronk tore his in Week 14 and most seemed to think it was about Week 5 until he was really Gronk again. Again, the timeline fits.

That doesn't mean Lewis will be ready, all rehabs are different. The Patriots may also choose to ease him in whereas if he were returning for just one game maybe they'd feature him.

But it's good to know that if he's limited in snaps it's probably by team choice not necessity.

More likely is that Chandler will get hurt trying adjust and chase down Lewis after one of his cuts from football heaven.

Just amazing to me how fast these guys can recover and compete in physically grueling sport so quickly.
