FoxSports says what Pats fans have been saying about Deflategate

that the Pats should get their picks back..

The NFL needs to give the Patriots their first-round pick back

Best part is this, imho:

"The idea behind stripping the pick was that a team is responsible for its employees, which is a fine, straightforward concept. But some clowns in the equipment room deflating balls hardly constitutes taking a first-round pick. I mean, the Saints lost two second-round picks for putting bounties on players!
CTE vs. PSI and the latter is deemed worse?"

Kraft has ONE last chance to fight for the picks back after the appeal hearing rules in favor of Brady. There is still time for redemption. I consider it very unlikely he does, but I think there is still an opening.

Sadly we need to forget about these picks, theres a 0.0% chance they return to us, Kraft has given up and Goodell believes his own ********.

The other owners are tired of the Pats' consistent dominance.

We don't have a leg to stand on other than the truth, but the truth means nothing in this league.

They still got it wrong. They say the Pats shouldn't be penalized for what the equipment guy did.

They should say that "the Pats shouldn't be penalized because NOTHING HAPPENED".

The appeal hearing ruling (not the arguments, the actual ruling) will be coming after the draft.

Chris Chase? Is this the same guy who wrote for USA Today? If it's the same person, that guy was a 100% deflategate believer. Now he's claiming the Patriots should get their first round pick back? Either pick a side and maintain it or explain why you switched positions.

Summary: Brady and the Patriots are still guilty but losing a first round pick is too severe. Losing a 3rd, 4th and 5th in subsequent years is more fair.

Chris Chase was an elementary school teacher that took up blogging as a past time. His negative outlook earned him the title of "The most hated blogger in America" He found his niche by writing articles that pisses off his readers.

Interestign take. It has been that you pick on the Patriots to draw readers in. Now, that we have 28-31 fan bases hating us, is it now vogue to draw hits by being pro-Patriot?

Sunday Morning when I went out it was -9, had to do an errand all 4 tires were low and said they needed air.. yesterday it was warmer and the light went off.

Duh!!! It ain't all that complicated... but they made it that way.

Not sure what he said before, but this time he's saying it's as clear as day they deflategate happened, that Brady was involved in something nefarious and that two rogue staffers helped him out. But his point is that the Patriots organization had nothing to do with it, they can't be responsible for every aspect of every little thing, so the first round pick being taken away was ridiculous; a 3rd or 4th rounder makes more sense to him. He still thinks they need to try to go after Brady.

redemption in the eyes of who.....you?

if he goes after the picks, it is certainly not for the court of public opinion

When you are villan long enough you become a hero.

Vice versa is also true

That's pretty much the ONLY good part. The rest is anti-Pats stuff that I hope you disagree with.

Not saying this will definitely be the case, but there is a very good chance the Second Circuit does not issue its decision before the Draft. I had an appeal to the Second Circuit and it took about seven months after oral argument for the opinion to come down. That case involved far more complex legal issues, but still, several months is the norm.

.

You are correct. This was mandated by vast majority of other owners, goodell was just doing what he was told. It took me a while to realize it but deflategate was owner driven from the start. And goodell being the weakling he is caved and wants to get on their good side before his contract is up.

There was no malfeasance on the part of any Patriots equipment guy. Natural phenomena was to blame, and our team lost a first and fourth round pick, a million dollars, have seen our quarterback vilified publicly, and our owner cower in the face of a group of owners and NYJFL officials who are hell-bent on brining is brand crashing down.

I doubt that the decision comes down before the draft. Possible but not likely.

Even then, the league will just ask for an "en banc" hearing and cert. from the POTUS (which would be grasping at straws but they can still claim that the matter is open).
