Report: Andy Dalton won't need surgery on fractured thumb; return for playoffs possible

My understanding is, #Bengals QB Andy Dalton believes a week 17 return is possible. But it's a bone and one can't guess how it heals.

I want them to be #2 seed so if they pull off an upset in Round 2 easy picking for us. Also I want that one and done Denver Team taking the Three game route.

Either team will be an easy outing for NE. A divisional rival or Pittsburgh will likely give us the closest game.

If Dalton's out for the rest of the regular season, I'm pretty confident that we're beating-the-Titans-at-home away from the #1 seed.

I'll go a step further and say I don't really care which gets the #2 seed, because if Dalton's out I see either one of them losing at home in the divisional round. The road to the Super Bowl will most likely be beating both wild cards at home, regardless of whether we're the 1 or 2 seed.

They'll probably be #3. I could see the divisional round being Pittsburgh at NE and Cincy at Denver.

What about KC they are playing good ball too?

I hope he heals in time for Jan and they make the playoffs. Hate to see a late season key injury destroy a season's hard work.
Wouldn't that be interesting though if McCaron won a playoff game...

Well if the lever is just cracked on the BB gun they can just use a little JB Weld and let it cure for a couple of weeks.

Correct if I'm wrong! The Steelers still have a chance to win the AFC North!

Dalton doesn't seem like a bad guy, he's just really easy to make fun of.

Kansas City is likely to take the 5th seed. They have 3 very winnable games against Browns, Ravens and Raiders. They also hold tiebreakers over Pittsburgh and NYJ. That leaves the Steelers and Jets fighting for 6th spot. The Steelers should take it as they get the tiebreaker if both sides win out and if the Jets lose to Buffalo or us then the Steelers need to lose 2.

That would mean we see Pittsburgh at Cincinnati and Kansas City at Houston/Indianapolis/Jacksonville. In the divisional, Pats would play Pittsburgh or Kansas City while Denver would play Cincinnati or Kansas City. Gotta say that I don't like either of those teams. Hopefully the Bengals collapse and Steelers win the division, win the wild card rematch and go to Denver while we get the AFCS winner or KC.

Y0u also were positive that Denver and Philly would be easy wins for the Patriots.

Sure, that was before they lost all their top players and had to play those teams with their practice squad.

And Denver w/o the benefit of super shady officiating in the 4th quarter would have been a relatively easy win.

The Philly game was a dumpster fire of epic proportions. Almost as if the universe shifted in that one four hour block of time. Was and should have been a walk in the park.

I mostly want the #1 seed and to avoid the top QB (Big Ben). Do that, stay healthy and we should be fine. The top QB scares the heck out of me in the playoffs and there aren't a lot left in the AFC.

Our defense has been very good, so I'm confident we'd beat the Steelers. Though it would be a close game.
