Kyle Arrington Appreciation Thread

IMO, Kyle Arrington is another Patriot who doesn't get the respect he deserves for his play on the field. I'm actually seeing posts in other threads proposing cutting him next year because of his cap cost. He is more than earning his cap number. The guy is having a very good year and, again IMO, he is currently the 3rd best CB on this team and the top slot CB.

That’s a good question. It’s been a pretty solid year for Patriots defensive backs who previously received far too much unwarranted criticism from New Englanders. Safety Devin McCourty is playing at an All-Pro level, Patrick Chung has been fantastic against the run and very solid in coverage and Arrington has been one of the NFL’s best slot cornerbacks.
He’s allowed 12 receptions on 27 targets for 160 yards with one touchdown and two pass breakups on the season. Last week, he held Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton to two catches for 24 yards.
Based on Pro Football Focus’ metrics, Arrington ranks second among 59 slot cornerbacks in snaps per target, eighth in yards per snap and 18th in snaps per target and passer rating against."

Arrington is one of those superb role players that people take for granted, but are so important to a team.

Guffaw all you want, but Patrick Pass was one of the 22 Pats with 3 SB rings for a reason.

Guys like them are so important, but so overlooked.

Arrington is one of the best nickel/slot backs in the NFL. Belichick pays him appropriately for that role. He is well worth the $3M that he will receive in 2015. IMHO, none of Ryan, Butler and Dennard are close to as good as Arrington as a nickel back. His job all year has been awesome, especially agains the colts.

Kyle Arrington doesn't get the credit he really and truly deserves. Think of all the CBs that have come and gone since 2009, and Mr. Arrington is (gasp) still in a Pats uniform...producing.
