It was just announced that prior to their August 7 preseason opener in Washington, the Patriots will hold three days of joint practices with the Redskins at the Redskins' training camp in Richmond. I hope the practices are open to the public, as it would give those of us Patriot fans living down here in Virginia a chance to get a good look at the team and the new players.

I wonder how much Danny Snyder makes you pay these days?

Interesting, the Skins definitely have some offensive talent after getting DJAX, so it should be good for our D in the long run.

Great to know that they are free and open to the public. It is amazing that Snyder isn't trying to make a buck off of this.

Joint practice? I didn't know they legalized marijuana in D.C.

So I guess we can add Grueden as a fan of Bill!

the redskins stadium has the worst grass in NFL, better not put Gronk, easley, Brady and Wilfork out there

They haven't announced it yet but I fully expect the Eagle to come to Gillette for similar joint practices.
As the Pats go to DC this year, similarly, the Skins to come here next year

I assume he's referring to the actual pre season game.

The game will be at FedEx Field, nee Jack Kent Cooke Stadium. (Cooke named the unincorporated area Raljon after his sons Ralph and John. Tony Kornheiser said that it was a good thing Cooke didn't name his sons Peter and Enis.) The training camp fields are all natural grass.

did you just sneak a **** joke in there ,Norm?

Hope the Pats don't pick up any bad habits.

Or run into any players from other teams who don't know how to let up in practice. That's really my biggest concern with these joint practices, particularly after the knee scare last summer.

I like the idea of bringing in different competition etc, but as a certified worrier I have some reservations due to the reasoning above. The opposition just doesn't care as much as our own defense does, but as Belichick says "it's football..."

I was just responding to Dexter's post. I guess I should have quoted it. I assume the training camp grass will be of much higher quality than that of Fedex Field.

Virginia in August should be a good tune-up for the early season trip to S. Florida...

It almost always is hot and humid in August, but so far in 2014 Virginia has been quite cool.
