Wonder how serious that toe is? Might be some truth to trading for a RB now.

If your going that way you use Hollins. Seen some videos of him in the weight room he has impressive strength.

I wonder what WeaponCP is doing these daze... He hasn't signed with a team since ****tsdirt cut him at the end of July...

No. It was actually 2-2 (the pick and fumble against us and the 2 picks for us) but I count the recovered onside kick as a TO, just like you'd count a missed 4th down play.
Now we just need to get the NFL to count them that way. . . .

Falcons defense have given up the fewest yards /game passing in the league so far this year
while they are 22nd in yards/game rushing allowed

They will be very hard to pass against. If Maye balls out passing wise against this defense that will truly be impressive.

Need a huge game from Henderson

This is the kind of game I expect will be a one score game into the 4th quarter. I half way want to see that happen. I want to see how this team does under the pressure of being in a close game deep into the 4th quarter.

The other half wants me to be dead wrong and this game be over by the 3rd quarter and we spend the entire 4th quarter killing the clock.

Jakobi Meyers?

No, captain. The first TD was scored for the Browns by none other than Austin Hooper, who now plays so well for the Pats.

Jakobi Meyers was playing for the Patriots and scored his own very first touchdown in that game. After which, the Meyers-doesn't-score-touchdowns critics turned into Meyers-doesn't-make-yards-after-catch ones.

The real issue is that Stevenson has been the only back capable of pass blocking.

May need Josh to get creative
Exactly on some of Drake Maye's passes; Rham threw some Killer blocks on most of those plays. Henderson will need to pick up that slack: also I wonder how is Terrel Jennings in that area??

I think people are underrating this Atlanta team, they seem to match up well against us. Sure, they are weak against the run, but until last week, WE have been a weak running team, who will likely be without our bell cow runner and will have to rely on a rookie whose highest number of rushing attempts this year has been 10. He was better last week, but this is a major step up.

Atlanta's pass defense really does sound excellent. I find it hard to believe that they haven't allowed more than 200yds passing in ANY game this season. That is impressive. We will need to upgrade the pass blocking because clearly they have been very good shutting down QB's first options and are fast to the ball on short completions.

It's not fair to compare any young QB with what Maye is doing, but in that Buffalo game, Pennix was more than solid, and is certainly good enough to be US if we turn the ball over or fail to block for Henderson and May. Plus, they are getting back perhaps 3 big guys which helps elevate a team's performance. (London,

In our favor we are at home, and they don't seem to play as well outside, and we HAVE been playing better football so far this season. But we NEED to hold on to the ball (no more than one TO if any) and rely on a rookie and a guy who couldn't make the 53 man roster to establish a running game. Drake will not be able to have the luxury of a step back game. He is going to have to be brilliant in this one too.
With all due respect Ken,

I truly don't believe anyone in the patiots locker room or coaching staff has underrated Atlanta or any team this season. Vrabel spoke yesterday of how the organization has won just 8 games in 2 seasons. Vrabel isn't allowing complacency or entitlement or guys to not play with maximum effort. A big reason why Keon white was shipped out.

All I've seen and heard was how good the Atlanta defense is and if course how good Robinson and London are. There's respect on the Falcons name IMO. It's never been about the opponents is always going to be about the Patriots. When we play sound ball and dont beat ourselves we see what the results are.

Also who needs big passing numbers when teams are getting roughly the same amount of rushing yards on the defense as well.

Rushing yards allowed in each game:

1. 101 - Bucs
2. 78 - Vikings
3. 110 - Panthers
4. 147 - Commanders
5. Bye
6. 134 - Bills
7. 171 - Niners
8. 141 - Dolphins

The Falcons can be attacked on both fronts, and maybe teams are playing ahead and don't feel the need to pass as much. They can create some turnovers but forfeit a ball about once per game as well. Their run D has been getting worse as the season goes on.
Good points. With rham out is certainly going to be alot of T. Henderson runs to the outside. Assuming jones plays he Will provide some runs between the tackles. The running game has come to life past few weeks and it's going to be important to keep it going down the stretch. I will also say this. Drake has defensive coordinators up at night because completion % of 74 % of his passes is insane. Drake knows what a defense is trying to do to him and he knows how to check out of something. Drake being a duel threat, intelligent QB really there is no defensive scheme you can run to stop him. Similarly to Josh Allen.

QBs Browns have faced
Burrow
Goff
Love
Jackson
Wentz
Rodgers
Tua
Maye

QBs Falcons have faced
Mayfield
McCarthy
Young
Mariota
Allen
Mac Jones
Tua (Tua went 20/26 205 yards 4 TD )

I mean ya Falcons might statistically have the best pass defense but Browns are a better pass defense if you compare the QBs they faced vs what the Falcons have faced and how the Browns defense spends much more time on the field because of their bad offense.

Also as it stands now Maye has faced 5 of the top 11 best statistical pass defenses and played well vs all.

Team and the Average they allow a game with Maye's yards removed
Browns- 168 Maye- 282 +114 yards
Saints- 186 Maye- 261 +75 yards (really should have been +130 more, idiot refs)
Bills- 143 Maye-273 +130 yards
Panthers- 197 Maye-203 +6 yards (but he only threw it 17 times since it was a blowout)
Dolphins- 194 Maye-230 +36 yards

Westover and other along with TH will have to step up thier blocking...but then again we don't need to get crazy here.. the offensive line has been steady all season.. last week Cleveland have a ferocious defensive Line.. the Falcons get pressure by blitzing... this isn't pea shooter Mac jones behind center... Drake is 74% against the blitz.. we should welcome the blitz IMO.

one of the Browns problems is that their defense, while good, is on the field to damn much because their offense is hot trash. Atlanta has a better offense than the Browns so their defense might not collapse in the 2nd half.

I think the Pats win by at least 10

Fair point, but We also may have to take into account how atl’s offense has performed outdoors, its only a 2 game sample but they’ve been abysmal. Defense has been about the same, the 30 PA in Carolina was mostly on atl’s offense

I firmly believe the key here is slowing Robinson.. Penix like other QBs we've seen similarly is a pocket passer he doesn't want to leave the pocket.. forcing him off his spot is key... we are excellent against that run. You want Penix to have to throw the ball.

Browns DL: #1
Falcons DL: #20

Some Josh McDaniels’ performances vs. cover 3:

2021: 54 points, 407 passing yards vs. Jets
2021: 25 points, 186 passing yards vs. Jets
2020: 30 points, 397 passing yards vs. Seahawks
2017 AFCCG: 24 points, 298 passing yards vs. Jaguars
2016: 24 points, 316 passing yards vs. Seahawks
2014 SB: 28 points, 328 passing yards vs. Seahawks
2012: 23 points, 395 passing yards vs. Seahawks

These defenses were predominantly cover 3 and some of the best defenses in the league that year. I think they’ll have success if they have to throw the ball more than usual.

Agreed, that should be the plan to stop robinson and make penix beat us. This is Gonzo’s first big assignment to lock up London. If penix can beat us you tip your cap.
