I feel similar. 27-14 type of thing.
Lawson of Buffalo?
Nope my bad had Carl on my brain
Can't the same be said about our O facing their D though?
Tom Brady, per Hannable, averaged 2.18 yards/attempt when targeting his wide receivers vs Cincinnati....wow...folks who think that type of production is magically going to result in another Super Bowl appearance need their heads examined...
Yes. I was at the game in Buffalo earlier this year and their D frustrated our O as much as the other way around (if you recall, Ghost missed an X-P and we were sweating it out for pretty much the entire game in a 16-10 win). If Jules is a "no go" we really need the other folks to step up, which based on last week's game will be Harry and White. I agree their O stinks, and I am glad we are at home for this game, but it's no gimmee.
There is some hope that the offense improves enough to put up something in the mid-20s, and that the defense will bounce back and play well against the top teams that it previously lost to (BAL, KC), but I don’t think anyone’s super confident about pulling it off this year.
Watson must really have lost a couple of steps because he should be a capable receiving threat, yet isn’t. Guys like Dorsett aren’t likely to get the job done. They really don’t have anyone to catch the ball on a consistent basis, and it’s only a matter of time before that catches up to them in another (BAL, KC, HOU) matchup in a big game. I think the hope is that they win these last two, earn the bye, and are able to win a divisional round game at home to give themselves a shot in the AFCCG.
I agree Supafly. Brady's elbow is obviously hurt, hopefully another week will allow the swelling to subside. Mason's ankle and Edelman's knee need healing. I thought it looked better Sunday, but even the catch by Harry in the back of the endzone was a bit slow, he should have turned a second earlier. Everything looks OK but a step too slow (playing speed should not be confused with player's speed). On White's screen play touchdown run Brady almost got murdered. Michel is running well, but the blocking is lacking. Watson might be hurt? It is 4 weeks before the AFCC game, so maybe they can heal and execute a bit faster by then?
Harry, Sanu and Myers will all be OK next year and LaCosse is probably serviceable at TE2. RB is OK for next year too. Hopefully we do not lose Thuney, Wynn will be much better, and maybe both Cajuste and Frohodt will be good backups. Need a TE1, a fullback, and some experience for the young ones for 2020. After that it should look better for a couple of years.
The patriots are the same team they were last week.
We just beat the worst team in the NFL.
That being said, it is good to see the offense have an OK game. If you think they had better, consider the score at the half, and where we would have been if there were no turnovers.
So wait. Brady's not going to be allowed to throw to RBs in the playoffs? Here I thought James White having the 2nd most playoff receptions in the nfl in the last 4 seasons meant something
I don't think anyone thinks that kind of production is going to result in a Superbowl. We hope it will get better. If a couple overthrows were just a little more on target those numbers wouldn't be that bad.
Umm, Brady can do better hitting a wide open Sanu twice and there was a false start on Edelman on that deeper sideline route to Harry. A few plays would skew that number.
Outside of a couple of misses by Brady that were pretty bad, the approach passes the eye test on Sunday.
You don't seem to get, if they beat Buffalo on Sunday, they'll get the 2 seed and some cupcake at home off a Bye which could do wonders for this team right now.
The odds favor this offense going UP, not down.
The talent is clearly there, and besides Brady doesn't need to have gaudy stats to win. Go look at some of his numbers during the 2001-2004 era. He only got eye popping stats starting in 2007.
That team is NOWHERE near the worst team in the league based on talent and even experience. That D Line is legit (always has been), they have 2 good RBs, and even though AJ Green was missing, they have a solid batch of WRs in Boyd and Ross.
There are NUMEROUS teams worse than Cincy if you watch the NFL enough.
Ah you are back to your comfort zone of brady bashing ! No need to look at the whole pic of course. He has answers to the test so who cares he has a bad elbow a 1 legged edelman, WRs dropping passes including white or a turnstile oline .Brady sucks.
I think the good thing here is , everytime you have said they suck ,more of than not they end up winning . @shmessy 's signature says it all. So keep them coming!
I am simply stating facts
I bring facts and stats
No you're not. You're stating facts and then adding your own special brand of Debbie-downerism.
Just a reminder the reason why this play was ruled dead had nothing to do with the actual play. It was because Edelman flinched at the line
That was a helluva play.
Way-too-early-take but I think the kid will help in the playoffs.
