SMY heading to Globe as beat writer

Thanks all!! I am so excited for this opportunity and the new challenges that will come along with it. I've been at the Journal for a long time (15 years, starting as an intern at 17) and it is definitely time for something new!! I'm still tweeting - now I'll be @shalisemyoung And don't worry...

Reiss: Pats installing latest version of FieldTurf in Gillette

You're on the right track...Bob Kraft is on the committee that's trying to get the World Cup in the US in 2018 or 2022. If I were a betting woman, I'd wager that has quite a bit to do with this move - especially when you consider that the field they put down in '06 has a 10+ year life span...

SMY: Moss, Burgess, Guyton, and Thomas sent home Wed after late for 8am meeting

I'm not sure on that. Will try to find out answer... smy

SMY: Moss, Burgess, Guyton, and Thomas sent home Wed after late for 8am meeting

For those who asked: I know at least one player was nine minutes late -- arrived at 8:09 for 8:00 meeting... Also, yes Moss has been getting Wednesdays off from practice, but we still see him in the locker room on Wednesdays, so he is still taking part in meetings, etc. smy

Projo: Bradys says BB 'cursed' team out on video review of Colts game

Re: Projo: BB 'cursed' team out on video review of Colts game I think they are focused squarely on the Jets. I wouldn't worry about any kind of "hangover" because it is the Jets...I've been told some stories about how they were acting after they won their little Super Bowl in week 2, and...

Projo: Bradys says BB 'cursed' team out on video review of Colts game

You're correct - I don't write headlines, and was surprised that *that* is what a copy editor took from that item. My point was that they are turning the page and are back to work, but it's not my decision to make so... Re: Moss - you have to realize, there are no fewer than 50 people...

SMY: Wilhite injured in N. Attleboro home invasion, reason for inactive-pulled groin

Re: Why Wilhite Didn't play Lol...no. I'm not sure why. Drives me nuts, though, to be honest with you. But to paraphrase TO, I just write the stories the way they tell me to ;)

SMY: Wilhite injured in N. Attleboro home invasion, reason for inactive-pulled groin

Re: Why Wilhite Didn't play No...I don't think he was physically hurt that badly. I think it was more that he was shaken up. I asked him about it today and he didn't want to talk about it, which I more than understand.

SMY: Wilhite injured in N. Attleboro home invasion, reason for inactive-pulled groin

Re: Why Wilhite Didn't play Hey guys -- It was Jonathan. As I've mentioned before, the ProJo doesn't let us use the phrase "according to a source," which is why the writing sometimes seems vague. Believe me, I cannot stand the rule, especially when it creates situations like this one...

    SMY's Day One story/notebook

Thanks for the love all! :D I've thought about that little draft weekend situation re: Crable. I'm trying to figure out what's going on but so far I haven't been able to find out what the deal is...

Pats have a no-blogging policy during practices

Hey all -- This is a very new policy...the way it was put to us is that a majority of other NFL teams don't allow live blogging/Tweeting from practice so the Pats decided to join the majority. They don't take our phones, but they do subscribe to all of our blogs/Twitter pages and I assume...

Patriots Have Reporters All a Twitter

Thanks one and all for the responses. Once upon a time -- it was only a few years ago, but it seems like a lifetime -- blogging seemed like the way for newspaper reporters to keep up with the instant results given by espn and the like. I can only speak from my shop, but the Journal has tried...

Patriots Have Reporters All a Twitter

If I could, I'd like to open a debate here based on some of the comments I've seen here and elsewhere because of this overblown twitter issue. I find it interesting that people are openly advocating for others to lose their jobs. Whether or not you believe that what we as sports reporters do...

    SMY: Crable in the doghouse?

Thank you to all who have defended me! It was certainly an interesting two days... FYI: Patrick Chung will be the only player who will be introduced via the jersey presentation and photo op with Mr. Kraft Thursday afternoon. Since NE didn't have a first-rounder and four twos, we were debating...

    SMY: Crable in the doghouse?

hwc -- I'm not getting into a pissing contest with you. As I said, I am very proud of my record to this point as far as covering the Patriots. I hope you enjoyed the draft. smy

    SMY: Crable in the doghouse?

Thanks Frezo :) To all -- For the record, please believe that if I'm wrong on the suggestion, I will certainly wake up in the morning to either an email or phone call from the Pats telling me I'm wrong in no uncertain terms. I'll let you know if that happens. smy

    SMY: Crable in the doghouse?

What I meant was I wasn't the one that asked the question. The reporter who did ask the question had Crable's name specifically in the question. smy

    SMY: Crable in the doghouse?

Issac -- BB was asked specifically about Crable. He avoided answering about Crable. And for livinginthe past and the rest of you who read me on any kind of regular basis -- is this the first time you've taken issue with something I've written? Because if it is, I'd like to think that means...
