Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread - #1 Seed Pats beat the Bills

Did Bill decide the Patriots were going to be Navy for the day, because I could imagine Steve Belichick looking down on that with a big grin on his face, proudly thinking that's my boy.

Belichick's record without Brady since the Brady era began

He's 33-32 with the Patriots if you include his first season, which was a rebuilding year with a roster he had not yet had chance to build to his liking. You can't expect him to cook a good dinner if he's not been able to shop for the groceries :)

Belichick's record without Brady since the Brady era began

It's comparing apples and oranges. BB was finding his way as a head coach in Cleveland and honing his craft, and he didn't have an owner like Robert Kraft supporting him. As somebody else on this discussion pointed out, he has a very respectable 60% win rate without Brady since 2008.

Belichick's record without Brady since the Brady era began

Belichick can consistently build a competitive roster in the salary cap era like no coach in history, and there is no doubt he's an all time great coach. The question for me is, would he have been given time to show what a great coach he is if Brady has not come along in 2001. Brady was always...

    Passing TD Record Chase

I'm not really hating on Brees, just the fascination of stopping team games to celebrate individual accomplishments. I respect him as a player, but I thought the circus around his passing yard record was distasteful. I'd like to think Brady would refuse to participate in such a tawdry display.

    Passing TD Record Chase

Supposing the Dome Gnome Brees does not pass for 3 TD's tonight, the Patriots play the Bills a day before the Saints play in week 16. What are the thoughts here on whether the game will be stopped to present Brady with an award if he is the one to break the record? Personally I would love...

    OT: Title Town 2.0

Call it Title Town all you want, but in late 2001 Boston was on a run of two championships in the last 20 years. For all we know, the recent Super Bowl win could be the beginning of another drought. I live in the UK and Liverpool dominated in football here throughout my childhood. When they won...

    Best Defensive Coaching Ever? (merged)

Much like Bill's game plan against the Bills in 1991 I can see this one going into the Hall of Fame, the question is how much of it was Bill and how much Flores?

Aaron Donald 0 sacks 1 QBs hit

How the O-Line held up was the key to the game for me. In the end they did just enough, which against those beasts on the Rams D-Line is commendable. Donald may not have had any sacks, but there was pressure all game with the pocket collapsing and limited time to throw. In other years it would...

Add One Former Patriot to this team

Maybe if Hannah and the rest of the OL had done a better job of protecting Eason in that game, if Stanley Morgan had not dropped that sure TD pass it could have been very different. They still probably would have got hammered, but Eason would not have been such a scapegoat.

    Gronk defending that play

I have no problem with him being in there for Hail Mary situations in future, he has great hands and the size to dominate in those situations. Tonight wasn't that, and it was a major screw up coaching wise. This is not the situational Patriots who are supposed to know what to do in these moments.

Post Game Thread- Dolphins beat the Pats

The number one seed was very likely at one point. Did you see the ridiculous Mahomes 48 yard 4th down pass to save the game against the Ravens? The Pats were 99.9% to win before the last play, the Ravens 90% until the Mahomes play. That made it 10,000 to 1 that that Pats will not end the day as...

Getting to Gillette Stadium on Sunday

Thanks for the advice. I'll take the MBTA to Walpole, then either catch a cab or walk to my hotel which is a few miles away near the stadium. No train until 11:19 to Walpole which is later than I would have liked, but in the words of Bill 'It is what it is'. Renting a car is not an option as I...

Getting to Gillette Stadium on Sunday

Hi everyone, I’m attending my first game at Gillette Stadium this weekend from the UK. I’d like to get to the stadium early to have a look around and take in the atmosphere, but game day public transport from Boston is not making that very easy, and taxis from the city are so expensive. I was...

Will Team Rally Around Brady after Media Criticism?

I recall it was a combination of injury and poor performance that got him benched. The final game before before being benched in favour of Osweiler was where he set the all time passing yardage record in the first quarter, but then proceeded to have the worst game of his career, throwing 4 int's...

    Imminent Brady Milestones

I never understood that reason. You can't say it judges everybody on a level playing field over 16 games, because the regular season was once 14 games. Then there is the fact that some careers last longer, some players are blighted by injury. It's never a level playing field however you try to...

    Imminent Brady Milestones

Tom is now just 401 yards and 4 TD's away from being the all time leader in both categories if you also include the post-season. Of course this will pass under the radar as the prestigious records are only based on regular season play, but surely we can be happy among ourselves when he passes...

    Malcolm Butler Mega Thread

The truth has to come out over this otherwise the 'In Bill We Trust' mantra will start to ring hollow. If it was such a serious disciplinary issue then why was he even on the field? If it was not disciplinary that only leaves performance related concerns, but by the 2nd half it was clear things...

If I were Brady I'd consider retirement like Gronk

You're right, why would you walk away from what you love so much in the face of adversity like tonight. I was presuming to speak from his perspective to make the point that I would be happy with such a decision, but I realise now I was talking crap.

If I were Brady I'd consider retirement like Gronk

I'll give you that, but in whose benefit do you make such a statement.
