You Be The GM: List the Order of Priorities for the Patriots (Poll)

    1. Resign Hightower 2. Extend Butler (depending on what he wants) 3. Sign either Blount, Latavius Murray, or Eddie Lacy to a 2-3 year deal 4. Replenish draft picks by trading Garoppolo 5. Use first rounder from Garoppolo trade on Taco Charlton or Haasan Reddick 6. Take best players available...

    Patriots Cap Situation 3-11-17

First off, DT isnt a real position of need to begin with. They gave Guy 5M a year. If you want every move to be a big 10M a year move then you wont have any cap space to bring back Butler or Cooks or any of these upcoming guys. We made some big moves, there has to be some intermediate and cheap...

    Patriots Cap Situation 3-11-17

Because you will quickly run out if you give everybody a huge contract and you will feel the pain in the future when you cant resign anybody.

    Patriots Cap Situation 3-11-17

Because every move cant be a Brandin Cooks or Stephon Gilmore

OT: Amazing hilarious reddit hater thread

The shaving cream part at the end was a nice touch too lol

Mike Reiss attempts to answer the question, "What's the delay with Dont'a?"

Also, I dont really see a lot of ILBs getting paid big money. If you look back at last year Jerrell Freeman only got 4M/year and hes had over 100 tackles in every season except one (94), gets a few sacks every year, and a hand full of run stuffs. Maybe we are over estimating the linebacker...

Mike Reiss attempts to answer the question, "What's the delay with Dont'a?"

I said this earlier. It wouldnt surprise me if he ends up coming back to the Pats for a lot less than we thought. 10M/year wouldnt surprise me now. I could be totally wrong though.

I hope BillB shores up our OL...

OL is all set imo. Only thing I think we need is a young tackle in the draft.

Lawrence Guy signed - DL/DE checked!

He has 2 blocked kicks over the last 2 years, 4 in his career. Some special team value.

Patriots Rumor All quiet on Hightower front or Dont'a-do-it FA tour

I could be completely wrong, but if he has been offered close to what he wanted I think he would of signed by now. It wouldnt surprise me if he comes back to the Pats for only like 10M/year.

Patriots trade for Carolina DE Kony Ealy

Grissom aint gonna be **** except for a special teamer. Flowers showed promiss his rookie year but he just got injured. Grissom has never shown anything. I think Ealy will just be a rotational guy with some upside.

Butler could still go to NO - here's how.

I would take the #11 overall pick for 1 year of Butler @ $4M thank you very much.

Some perspective on the offense before we bounce off the walls

I agree, but we have all the cap space we need to put the finishing touches on this defense. The secondary is already all locked up and looks like top-5 in league at the very minimum assuming we keep Butler. If we resign Hightower linebacker will be fine, we could probably use another decent guy...

The complete and utter brilliance of this offseason

Rapoport reported the deal is actually 3 years 21 million, no incentives. Not a huge difference, I think Belechick may just like Allen more. Hes younger and more potential. Also a really nice, team first type of player.

The complete and utter brilliance of this offseason

We are actually sitting on about $34-36M after all the moves including Branch. Thats enough to resign Hightower, and go after some more FAs and/or give extensions to Butler and/or Cooks. EDIT: 34-36M is without Amendola Cut/Restructure, or any other cuts/restructures.

Will BB even bother to show up for the draft?

Im betting this means they will either be trading away one of: Garoppolo, Butler, Gronk to recoup some first or second rounders. Hope its not Butler or Gronk but you never know, especially after these last few days lol.

Patriots trade for WR Brandin Cooks (NO BUTLER INVOLVED). Gave up 1st & 3rd rounder for Cooks + 4th

Nah, Brady and Bill will go out together after they win the super bowl the next 2 years straight

    Stephon Gilmore Contract Details

Thats 13M/year. Give 12M/year to Butler because hes a RFA and boom, we got Butler, Gilmore, McCourty, Harmon locked up long term. What a secondary...

Patriots Rumor All quiet on Hightower front or Dont'a-do-it FA tour

Offense doesnt need anything except a Big back, and a developmental WR, Tackle, TE, and maybe QB. Backs are cheap, and the other 4 you can get in mid-late rounds in draft. Nothing to worry about offensively. Keep loading this defense!!!
