PATRIOTS NEWS 2026 Training Camp - Week 1

Breaking New England Patriots Team News
Dippre is a lottery ticket. He didn't make the roster last year until injuries piled up for other teams and had 20 snaps all season.

They are thinnish at TE even with him.
Julian Hill was an UDFA and only played max snaps because the Dolphins TE situation was abysmal.

The Pats activated Dippre because another team was looking to poach him from the practice squad. The team obviously liked what they saw prior to that.

Every rookie draft or otherwise is a scratch ticket, higher drafted players just have better odds of winning.

Eli Raridon can make a statement for TE 2. He needs to grab that opportunity and build trust with Maye. He loves throwing to TEs. Maybe not as much last year, but in 2024, Henry and Hooper had 111 catches between them.

With AJ Brown it will be interesting to see if they roll coverages his way. All depends on if other teams see him as number 1 threat still or not. I'm sort of on the fence with that one until I see it in action. If they do then everyone else should have a much easier time of it.

I love AJ Brown, he’s what this offense needs. Now I think about Brown, Henry & Raridon in the red zone and I think our red zone offense should be much better.

more and more, I like Brown in the slot with Boutte and Doubs also on the field.

I think we might see more ….

X: Brown
Y: Doubs
Z: Boutte

here we go... finally, the end of the dead season... hate that there's nothing interesting going on from february to july

Patriots 1-3 first month of the season. Any doubts? Did they do enough in the offseason, let's see in camp.
The Week 3 game at Buffalo is in the Pats favor once again because the Pats will most likely be their healthiest. If they shut Cook down again, Allen will have a really hard time throwing. Pats offense is going to be better than their first two meetings.

They should be able to beat Pittsburgh this time around. It would not shock me if NE beats Seattle opening night only if the OL doesn't play like the 2025 playoffs. Jacksonville is a wild card.

2-2 at worst.

There is absolutely no evidence that they "obviously" liked what they saw.. They cut Dippre at the end of camp and left him available to other teams for most of the season. And they barely played him. Roster spots are less valuable as the season goes on so they decided when they had spots, and other rosters were thin from injuries too, to bring him back for another look .

There's 90 spots. The only thing that's obvious is that Dippre is a better hope than someone they don't know.

For all we know he's a hard worker and Vrabel wants to reward those players in some way for team culture.

zero evidence
Dippre's forte is supposedly blocking, yet the team used Tonga and Munford in that role over Dippre

I'm expecting Clowney to sign at any moment now with Landry on PUP and the uncertainty of Jacas.
I’d be fine with that, I believe he had 8 sacks last year.

Very good chance this could happen.

My ND buddy says that Raridon showed lots of potential last season. Hopefully he is better than Bears Cole Kemet and more like Loveland from UGA.

They elevated him to the active roster rather than let another team poach him. They also kept him on the practice squad rather than cut him outright, like they do often during a season. That’s evidence.

Tonga played FB, he was also already available on the active roster. Mumford was also. They didn’t attempt to retain Mumford this off season.

You realize the coaches can like the look of a rookie prospect, but still think he needs some development right?

crazy Boutte stat
he had 33 rcpts last season (on 46 targets-70%) and every one of his 33 rcpts was either a first down or touchdown
Taking the Hollins role.

Going into last season Hollins had some crazy stats like that. I didn’t pay attention to how it went for him last year.

Gald they have no plans of Trading him because: that wouldn't be prudent at least for this year.

and that is why you keep him... keep your home grown talent...
