Great head coach and team builder, but OC…..mmmmmhhhhh

A. Technically, he NEVER SERVED as an OC. He got the Philly HC job as QB coach, OL coach before that in GB.
B. Ok, he calls plays…. Great …..
- Is he also the guy MANAGING THE CLOCK???? Infamous mis-manager. But that is not part of play calling, right?
- Is his primary playcall: “ Schoolyard 15”? ‘Mahomes, run around for 5 seconds and then look for an open guy.’????
- according to Andy himself, the play call sheet setup is a COLLABORATIVE project ( god, we love that word around here). So, how much is him and how much is working the plan.

Again, GREAT HC. he likely passes BB and the stinky fish coach. But I don’t over credit his O skill set just cause he collected talent and ignored the criminal activities ( including those in his own house [ok, I feel bad posting that, but it’s true.] ).

Reid is widely regarded by peers and analysts as one of the most brilliant offensive minds and de facto coordinators the league has ever seen.

He has successfully engineered top-10 scoring offenses with a wide variety of quarterbacks, ranging from Donovan McNabb and Jeff Garcia to Alex Smith and Patrick Mahomes.

He is to offense what Belichick was to defense. It’s absurd to suggest otherwise.

It is still just a unit of measure, not a realistic value of what a player is worth. So you don't take it literally.

By assigning a value of how many first round picks a player is worth, Barnwell is pointing out how valuable that player is to that team and another team acquiring them. It doesn't mean that Barnwell thinks the Pats could get six first rounders for Maye (even if they do expand the draft pick compensation for trades to five years as proposed) or that they would settle for anything less.

Barnwell could have used how many Lombardi trophies he think each player is worth. He just used first round draft picks because people generally understand the value of a first round pick in trade compensation and makes it easier for his audience to understand the value.

We are only disagreeing on the use of the term "literally." I'm saying that because he's inventing a symbolic system, like money, which is not being used as having value in itself but is being used to define value of something else, then you take it literally. The symbolism is what's being taken literally, not the content of the symbolism.

How many Reid Off game plans does he have enshrined in the PF HoF?
- Ok, 2-0 for BB.

How many rule changes were implemented league wide just to stop his game planning?
- ok, 3-0 for BB

How many innovations (like joint practices etc) came from him?
- like 20-0 for BB

Please tell me any one play design that Reid INNOVATED?

Again, I’m not saying he isn’t good. Nor that he isn’t respected. And maybe he is a real good game-planner, that identifies the 11th weakest link in your D really well week to week. But that doesn’t make him an offensive genius.

I already provided the evidence when I showed how he created top ten offenses with four different QB’s. But if you need more…
