This is perplexing considering that Jennings was the best at setting the edge and, when the Pats had guys go down on the D-line late in the season during games, Jennings stepped in and played some DT.

Guess that means I can kiss any hope of Rodriguez in the draft goodbye.

As soon as you use the terminology that puts "WR" and a number next to each other, you are.
Hollins' role isn't covered by the sets you describe. It is entirely different job that happens to include catching passes as a shared responsibility.
Now, as @Wozzy points out, that role could also be addressed through an athletic TE, so that's where Hollins may find some competition in the coming months.

Yes. Hollins grew on me. I was a proponent of him possibly not even making the roster last season but I was happy to be wrong! He made clutch plays all least season and was the only player on offense to do anything of significance in the superbowl. Made that huge 3rd down catch in Denver as well. Guys a culture guy and this extends beyond the stats.. I can definitely see Vrabel doing something for Hollins maybe a year or 2.

I am looking for it. I read it last week and was shocked. It the average of rounds 5-7 and there was not much difference between the 3 rounds. I will do my best to find the citation.

While about 50% of first-rounders get a second deal, this rate drops to around 30-40% for players drafted in rounds 2-4.

No. He is a wide receiver. We use 2 or 3 WRs on almost every play. When Brown is acquired he would not be on the field when we use formations with 2 or 3 WRs.
The idea that he is some sort of position that doesn’t exist, or used instead of TE is simply not accurate.
Last year he and Boutte were typically on the field in 2 WR sets and Hollins sometimes played in 3 WR sets.
Brown and/or Doubs will be on the forks instead of him.
