I really have to agree with you here… I don’t think AJ Brown is honestly worth a first rounder from either 27 or 28 or beyond at this point especially with some talk out there being that he is having some knee issues… I’m sure the patriots if they really are interested will do a thorough physical….. but again a first rounder just doesn’t seem right in this situation…..have to see what Pats do

A lot of reports out there have the Queefs prepared to duel it out with the Patriots for AJ Brown….. how the bleep do these guys have so much money… They signed a ton of people and also a lot of UDFAS… How do they have so much cap space?

Yeah but Brown wants to play for Vrabel and the Patriots. In some magical way...the Chiefs could offer the Eagles more then the Patriots...but Brown could just say he won't report or be a malcontent. Perhaps the Chiefs are trying to push up the price for the Patriots.

The Chiefs have no money to go after Brown. Over the Cap says they are basically over the cap and Sportrac have them just under $7 million and that is before they sign all their rookies. They can't afford Brown unless they cut or extend some players.

I would prefer they do it than the Pats do it.

It's ********. The deal is in place, all that's left is to find out the compensation. And although I don't want them giving a first rounder for him a first rounder in 28' is not the same thing as a first rounder in 27'. Any pick delayed a year is and always has been seen as a round lower in terms of NFL trade value.

The Eagles traded a 1st round pick for Brown 4-5 years ago.

Now he is 4-5 years older, has more injury concerns, declining performance, and a short shelf life.

In what world is that worth a 1st round pick?

If the Pats had not gone to the SB last year, and the Pats were the beneficiaries of some incredible good fortune, would the Pats be as motivated to trade for Brown?

I contend the Pats are still a building team, and Brown is a luxury not worth the squeeze.

Ok I guess we need to explain stuff over and over. A 2027 3rd after the 2026 draft is worth a 2028 second or a 2029 first. Time value of the draft picks. Actually having a player this year is worth a round value of not having a player until the next year. ETC ETC. So getting a 2030 first round pick is worth much less than getting a 2027 first round pick. Is this really that hard to understand?

So the Patriots giving Philly a 2028 1st rounder is the same as giving a 2027 second rounder. SOOOOOO it seems you are ok with them giving a 2027 second rounder but not ok with them giving a 2028 first rounder soooo this is a stupid take.

I don’t care what year it is in, a 1st round pick is a 1st round pick.

And just to be clear, I am not in favor of trading a 2nd in 2027 or a 1st in 2028.

If that is what it will take to trade for Brown then I vote “pass”,

You don't get to decide what the value is. Whatever metric you're using is useless because you're not the one making the trade.

You couldn't possibly know how they value it.

Seeing you guys argue over and over over value like either one of you could ever be right us hilarious. The value is solely in what the two trading teams feel about them.

It's not USD.

In a world where he is still only 28 years old, a true #1 WR (those become available once every 2-3 years) and we are in a big need of a #1. Doubs is good, but not a true #1, much better as a high end WR2.

I think it's too high a price to pay and have said that repeatedly, but the fact remains that a first round pick 2 years away is and always has been considered the same value as a 2nd round pick next year.
