Celtics 2025-2026 Discussion

Embarrassing.

See you for game 7 fans!!.. if we loose this series wich is a high probability the series was lost in game 5!!! You heard it here first one!
As I said, I haven’t watched much of the team this year, but I watched that game. I tuned in at the worst time apparently. It was like in the second half the team had a stroke and have been playing like it since then.

That was just the time when the Sixers were on the ropes and they just needed one more push to end the series. You could see the Sixers confidence and momentum growing because they got a second life.

Well at least game 7 is at home..........Oh wait, I forgot that means nothing to this version of the Celtics.

Agreed. The sixers missed Embid and George for larg chunks of the year. They are healthy now and we see what they can do. The Cs we're not even supposed to be here the #2 seed.. it was supposed to be a rebuild year.. Tatum wasn't even supposed to be back... that was the thought heading into the season.

Brown was a top 5 player all season and he's likely gassed... D whites offense has faded... this team has alot of depth.. this is game 7 muzzulla is going to have to put his stubbornness aside and play Gonzalez on maxey or Eddgecom. He was good for us this season as a rookie and deserves some run.. now Tatum has a calf injury.. I don't have high confidence in game 7 sixers are just outplaying them.

This team lacks killer instinct, they should have wrapped this up when they were up 3-1. I question their heart.

Agree completely. They've got the physical talent to get the job done but there's no spirit driving that talent. In the championship year they were somehow able to capture that mental discipline and killer instinct but the rest of Mazzula's (*) tenure has been marked by a "meh" attitude to pushing through to the next level. This is a far cry from Russell, Havlicek, Cowens, Bird, etc. I hope they can catch it again ... but I doubt it.

(*) I don't know if he's the source of the problem; I'm just using him as a label for the time period I'm thinking of.

This type of ball is hard to watch. It happens way too often. Oubre does the same **** all the time. It's one of many reasons I hate their coach. He encourages this type of behavior.

What stands out to me, and maybe this has just been all season, is that Derrick White is way too passive on offense for a player of his caliber. I don’t know what’s happened to his jumpshot and his overall shooting and why it has tanked so much. It seems perhaps it’s a confidence issue. But especially with the loss of all these weapons this year, he needs to create some shots on his own. He needs to penetrate more and make things happen. He was never an elite shot creator, but in the past, he’s been at least average and perhaps a bit above average. Right now he’s just standing around the perimeter.

Age. As D. White has played alot of ball especially the past few seasons.. it's catching up. He's still a good player but maybe PP should be starting and D White comes off the bench? We have plenty of young guys that can lock down the perimeter Walsh, Hugo specifically.. I love what D white brings as a veteran but father time is undefeated.. D White has struggled all season with his shot.. 32% from downtown

Yep. Since Tatum retuned his 2pt FG% improved but the 3pt FG% did not. Hes Marcus Smart level shooting now.

This series hes been brutal.

Joe has completely abandoned the guys that helped get us here. He is showing more and more that he is a regular season coach that won it all because he had by far the best team on the court. Even Doc Rivers did that once. The guy sucks. He has one more chance to actually coach and make some ****ing adjustments. At least TRY! If he trots out the same lineup and plays the same people the same mins and we lose I'm done with Joe. This would be like the 3rd upset under him since he's been here that we have been on the wrong side of if we lose.
You can't just overlook that.

Some of y'all are overlooking a prescient fact:
I said this early in this series- when Embiid is healthy, Sixers have THE best starting 5 in the NBA. Their depth is not great but that starting 5 is tough. And now, theyre putting in the effort to play defense.
If they win, its not an upset.
Mazzula has proven he's a top coach in the league.
Players have no heart? ********!
If you're gonna criticize, at least hit on truthful criticisms. There certainly are some.

Points taken. I'd add the guys that helped get us to the 2nd season when Tatum was out.. like Hugo for example he can't even Crack the line up? Why? He can provide some fresh legs some hustle and he can hit shots. Here's why we are truly and honestly losing.

1. Embid- no answer for him.
2. No one not named Jordan Walsh can make maxey work.
3. D white love the guy but he's struggling and isn't even looking for his shot.
4. Drop coverage is killing them..
5. Mixers top 3 scorers are playing better than our top 3 scorers.

Game 7 isn't a guarantee.. we lost game 2 without embid at home. We have been kept under 100 points for 2 consecutive games.

Nonetheless they achieved alot this season and there's still more moves to make this off season.. I think D white may get moved.

I was wrong about Embid. He is dominating the series and they are a different team now.
