Dane Brugler 2026 The Beast

I think Brugler sees the same vision that some of us have:

[Eli] Heidenreich has dynamic pass-catching ability that can be weaponized in a hybrid role by an NFL offense (think closer to Danny Woodhead than Kyle Juszczyk). He won’t be a fit for everybody, but he will be a fit for somebody.

28. Akheem Mesidor
29. Blake Miller
32. Kayden McDonald
33. Max Iheanachor

That's your 1st round sweet spot.

36. Malachi Lawrence
40. Jacob Rodriguez
47. Chris Bell
48. Jake Golday
49. Gabe Jacas
52. Caleb Banks
53. Keionte Scott
54. Keyron Crawford
55. Lee Hunter
56. Treydan Stukes

Those are your trade back/trade-up candidates.

60. Dani Dennis-Sutton
62. Keylan Rutledge
63. Eli Stowers
67. De'Zhaun Stribling
72. Ted Hurst
75. Kyle Louis
79. Travis Burke

85. Mike Washington
86. Oscar Delp
90. Bryce Lance
96. Chris Brazzell
97. Markell Bell

Outside the top 100:

CB Devin Moore
TE Sam Roush

I know you love Mesidor, but no thanks.
Too Old at 25.
Injury History is a concern. Surgeries on BOTH Feet.
No testing is also a Red Flag for me.
I think he'll have a low ceiling. His Floor is what he did in his 6th year at Miami, parred down to NFL levels.

Manx is all in on Mesidor, not me. I agree with everything you wrote. But he is damn good, so he is in the mix for me, depending on other options.

Well, you had him in your mock.. That's why I responded.. LOL Mesidor is good, but he should be as a 25 yr old/6th yr senior against guys who are 2-3 years (or more) younger than him)..

No, I just had him on my list of prospects worthy of consideration.

I want DDS at 63, actually have him above Mesidor on my short board.

Can't you say the same about Stukes whom you like?

I'm not as high on him as you are. You'll notice he didn't appear in my mocks.. *GRIN*

Stukes is only 24, but will be 25 on September 11th.. (What a day for him to be born.)
Stukes did some testing, though not the agility stuff. That's not as much of a Red Flag as Mesidor doing nothing.
Stukes had ACL surgery on one knee and suffered 2 bone bruises. The bone bruises could be concerning long term.

Yes, I would expect Stukes to perform better as a 6th yr/Sr. He's another high floor/lower ceiling guy. Not a guy I would consider with a 1st round pick..

No one is doing that.

No one is doing that.
Never said anyone else was. I was making a statement about ME. More in reference to 6thyr/SRs who are 24+ that are High Floor/Low Ceiling guys..

Damn! Dane and I are simpatico.

In his pod of sleeper prospects, he names:

Treydan Stukes
Keyron Crawford
Jimmy Rolder
Kaleb Proctor
Kaelon Black
De'Zhaun Stribling

There is a whole load of older guys that look like really great prospects. Really enjoyed you championing so many this year.

Nadine Tucker, Haynes King, Jeff Caldwell, Mesidor, Trost, and Height are all 25. Kionte Scott, Jeremiah Wright, Stukes, Pregnon, Iheunachor, K.Proctor, Fa'amore, Jefferson, Wheatley, Hibner are already 24.

But how do teams (and particularly the Pats) view older prospects against players like Allen, Woods, Sadiq, Parker, Concepcion, Mason Thomas, Randall, Hurst, Bell, Bisontis and Jacas, who are all 21 and under?

All we have in the Vrabel era is last years class. Woodson was the only older prospect at 24. Campbell, Henderson , Williams, Wilson, Farmer, Swinson, were all 22 and under. So we could say (on a small sample size) they usually draft younger prospects, but possibly the best value from last years class was Woodson.

I wonder if the immediate success of Woodson influences thinking for this draft? A good trend to note for future years. It'll be interesting to see where Mesidor goes in the draft vs Parker, Mason Thomas and Jacas.
