Troy Aikman with a scorching hot take that everyone knew a decade ago, is completely on-brand.

Matt Light has been shouting this from the rooftops.
And Matt Light heard it directly from his HC.

Weird signing.
Ashby was great last year - unless they're trying to bring a guy in for the shadow squad.
It's because the best LS we've ever had was a Greek-American (Lonie Paxton) so Vrabel (who played with Lonie) is trying to keep the Greek LS thing going. If he succeeds there, he may try to sign George Karlaftis next and bring back Ted Karras.

I think he will go on to develop and become very good. He finally has a chance.
But also makes me wonder about Mahomes’ health for the new season.

The fact that the Chiefs are giving up draft capital to get that guy is just so funny..

It's like a BB signing....kinda weird
and if ashby is injured, you would do what?

We have a 90 man squad. A camp backup at LS seems OK. In training camp, Ashby has difficulty long-snapping to more than one player at a time.

The Pats have had 2 LS in camp for several years in a row, now. You also need a back up LS. Even if it's on the PS. Pats had to use 3 one year.

I've been saying it as well. That the NFL hasn't been upfront about the injuries and the lack of physical drills in camp.

Fields has failed in 3 places already and just doesn’t have the vision and processing skill to be a good NFL QB. Plus as a guy who relies on his legs he won’t age well.
Not sure what it says about Mahomes because they need a backup if he’s healthy.

The trade was for a 2027 6th, ie almost nothing. And the jets ate 7 million to dump him.

The Chiefs are paying him 3 mill. That’s not even good backup money.

Sure...for training camp purposes

Yup. I’m a big Buckeye fan and he was great there but he’s just not equipped to be a starting nfl qb.

You need someone in the event of an injury. You have 90 roster spots.

Second LS in camp, then turn him back into a DE to cover two positions with one PS player?
