NFL News Maxx Crosby to Ravens (Update - Ravens Backing Out of the Deal)

Share the latest NFL news from around the league here.
HUH? Deflategate was started by the Colts.
All about whether you believe the ravens tipped the colts off about under inflated footballs after our divisional round game and prior to the AFC championship.

We wouldn't necessarily have heard about a detailed issue because of HIPAA. The Ravens aren't allowed to outright say "We found that Crosby has a degenerative knee condition".

You're right about HIPPA ofc but then there's this, Schefter posted Dr Neal ElAttrache's statement (obviously appv'd by Crosby or it wouldn't be out there). ElAttrache is one of the premier surgeons and he certainly would have shared all his findings with Baltimore's med staff, meaning it wasn't a though they did not know what they were trading for

Testing is PART of a physical, Ross. Failed physical is a broad statement. The league doesn't have a "Failed Medical" designation.

All the reporting that’s come out today tends to point towards the Ravens just backing out.

So if someone signed Hendrickson yesterday, you don't believe Baltimore backs out of the Crosby deal. Correct?

My question is who was involved in this. Like, did Hendrickson and his agent know the Ravens were going to back out on Crosby and sign Trey the next day.

And isn't it convenient for Baltimore they can't release more info. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and ****s like a duck odds are good it isn't a rhino

Yes but a football consultant for the Ravens texted Pagano and told him the NEP kicking balls were. Ravens contention was he acted independently and not at the direction of Harbaugh.

While ElAttrache is a premier surgeon, he's not the Ravens Orthopedist. Every doctor is different. Speaking from experience, you can have one doctor say that you need to have "X surgery" that will complicate your life going forward while another can say "Umm.. No.. you're not at the point where you need that, we can do Y surgery".

Maybe I'm letting my personal experience bias things. But I've got first hand experience of "premier" doctors saying different things when it came to my back.

Someone posted a report that Baltimore is acting like they were planning all along to get both crosby and Hendrickson, which is total bs imo

Put me in the camp that says what Baltimore did is shady but it lends credence to the idea that Crosby’s health is as it should be.

And no...the Pats shouldn't trade for Crosby.

The thing that sucks for this is that the Ravens might be back into the mix for AJ Brown. Although, I don't know if Roseman would trust doing business with the Ravens at this point.
Nobody is going to boycott the Ravens over them screwing over the Raiders (except maybe - MAYBE - the Raiders themselves).

If Baltimore is the top offer for AJ, Philly will take it in a heartbeat. They won’t give two ****s about the Crosby crawfishing.

Too bad this ain’t the old west….

It may be.

Hendrickson was going to sign with the Colts, but backed out to sign with the Ravens.

There is legit questions about the Ravens moves, but they have their own Team Orthopedist. Doctors disagree on prognosis all the time.

I have my example in regards to my back.. Had one neurosurgeon say that my only option was fusion at this point. Another told me a discectomy and some clean up was all that was needed. Both well-respected in the community. I went with the 2nd because he had been on the team that treated Gronk and is currently the Cowboys Neurosurgeon.

Double digit spine procedures later my heart goes out to anyone with back issues and I too had to navigate the minefield of differing opinions. My overarching point is Baltimore was hardly ignorant of what to expect of Crosby's knee and ElAttrache, the guy, most assuredly would have shared his findings.

It is at the very least an interesting coincidence that it all went down at the same time Hendrickson's price had dropped, certainly one that makes it all smell a bit like a day old catch to me. Time will tell how Crosby does wherever he lands

True, but Baltimore presumably had access to recent MRIs. This close to surgery I'm not sure how much more information you could get in a physical exam. Suggests Baltimore just got cold feet.

The surgeon did talk about stress injury to bone.

At this point I'm guessing he just stays put until his rehab is further along and then someone trades for him at a discount.

The stress injury to the bone could be an issue.

As I mentioned, there could have been something else that the Ravens Ortho saw when taken in conjunction with the previous knee and ankle surgery that sent up a red flag.

And yes, It could just have been cold feet and using the medical as an excuse. We'll never actually know.

The Ravens seem to have screwed the Eagles over last year with Jaire Alexander. So Roseman probably won't be hanging up the phone, but he may not want to help the Ravens either. He might rather use their offer to sweeten the deal with someone else rather than take the Ravens offer and even if ultimately it is slightly better.

If the Ravens deal is worlds better, it won't affect it. Two offers that are fairly comparable, he might go with the other team.

The Ravens did not expect to lose so many players on Free Agency and then figured out, "ouch, wait a minute, those picks might help".

They obviously got buyers remorse and it's not the Patriots so no one will give two Fs about it, next free agency they back in business as usual. Also they bullied the Raiders so no one care.

Tbh, this whole thing might make Crosby even more motivated for 2026. I maintain that I would send pick #31 for him, and perhaps a player or a mid-round pick, but not two firsts or a 1st and 2nd.
