NFL News Hendrickson 4 for $112 to the RAVENS

Share the latest NFL news from around the league here.
I smell the excrement of a male cow. The spin is starting.

I'm not done with this yet, because it's particularly insulting, they'd be 10s of millions over the cap even with Jackson restructuring.

Unless they're saying the plan is to cut him outright, which they also couldn't do, without cutting like 3 more guys outright.

Or Crosby lied to himself, his team and his agent and he really can't pass the medical tests.
Thats kinda what I am wondering.

While Crosby soured on the Raiders, they sat him because of his knee issue. Were they acting in his best interest? Maybe. Were they acting in their best interest? (knowing they would try to trade him). Very possible.

People are bashing the Ravens and they seemingly deserve it....but the Raiders and Crosby may also deserve some blame for being less-then-transparent regarding the actual condition of the knee.

The Crosby thing didn't work out, so like a teenager who just got dumped, the Ratbirds over-react and grab the next one in line.

Not over-committing to an injured player is smart, especially one with miles on his tires.

IMO they will regret going with Hendrickson.

Everyone knows that Crosby couldn't pass a physical. He just had surgery a couple of months ago and just just got off crutches. Reports are the Raiders were up front with all the medical information.

Eric DeCosta just seems shady. Last year he traded Jaire Alexander to the Eagles right before the trade deadline only for Alexander to retire like ten days later. I wonder if the Ravens knew he would and traded him anyway.

The Ravens screwed over both the Raiders and the Colts.

Or, the Ravens found something more when their medical staff reviewed Crosby's medical data or had him in for their own stuff.

As I pointed out in another thread, that left leg has had multiple knee surgeries now and an ankle surgery from the high ankle sprain. They could have easily seen something degenerative.

The fact that Crosby and his agent have been silent says that there is something there.

scum scum scummy

Hey I am on the clock here so I gotta earn my paycheck lol

Haha, i was actually referring to the ravens. They nix the deal with crosby due to ‘medical reasons’ and a few hours later sign the top edge on the market.

He got his money.

Except when the deal was struck it was well known Crosby had meniscus surgery and where he was in his recovery. Russini and Schefter have both reported the details were known

There is a very real possibility that the Ravens Team Orthopedist saw something that he didn't agree with Crosby's surgeon on. This happens. If you're DeCosta, are you going to side with the guy you hired or the guy that the Player hired?

NFL should mandate that when a team cancels a trade they are prohibited from other transactions for 72 hours.

Penalize a team because their Team Doctor has a differing opinion than the Player's Surgeon??

That makes no sense what so ever.

I saw a pretty good comp for the Crosby/Hendrickson fiasco.

"You're allowed to leave your bride for the bridesmaid on your wedding day, but you're a complete sh*t if you do".

It seems pretty clear that they saw there wasn't much of a market for Hendrickson and they could have him for far less than they thought and backed out of the Crosby deal.

I don't wish ill of any player, but it would be absolute justice if Hendrickson is a shell of himself coming back from injury and he becomes a free agent bust.
I think Hendrickson quit on the team after not getting an extension. He could have played, I believe. He chose to stay healthy and get paid. It worked out for him.

NFLN reported that BAL was talking to DAL after the trade was agree upon. They shared the medical info with the DAL doctor, one of the NFL's best regarding this type of injury and surgery. The DAL doctor gave his advice and BAL decided that Crosby wasn't worth 2 first rounders.

BAL was only allowed to share the medical info with DAL after the trade was agreed to.
==========
Until the physical and sharing of info, everyone was operating on info from LV and Crosby's agent that Crosby was ahead of schedule or at least on schedule.
==========
Did BAL do what they had to do after being misled by LV, Crosby, and Crosby's agent?

I suspect that there was more to this than BAL simply changing their mind.
