Player Signing Romeo Doubs Signs

Come on, you saw the playoff games right?

The schedule talk was annoying in the media but we can't deny it was partially the the difference between 14 wins and 10/11 wins, we saw the offense against playoff level defenses it was inept and nowhere near good enough at protecting the passer or separating from good coverage.
The knee jerk troll reaction of a certain few on this board is something man. Not you ScottishPatriots your thought is a fair one. Doubs is a solid player, good route runner and will be good for the Pats. Here is the thing, the guy balls out in playoff games. You talk about our struggles in the playoffs and a large part of that had to do with the lack of production from Diggs. He has a reputation of disappearing in play off games and he just added to it how he played last year. Doubs is just the opposite, the bigger the game the better he plays. Against the Bears last year in the playoffs he had 8 catches for 124 yards and a TD. An average of 15.5 yards per catch. Diggs had 2 catches for 16 yards against the Charges. Four and 40 against the Texans with a TD. Five for 17 against the Bronco's. Three (one for 23 yards in garbage time) for 37 in the Super Bowl. That is 14 catches in four games for 110 yards (avg of 7.85) with one TD. That is terrible production from Diggs and it has been a theme of his in the latter part of the year and playoffs. That performance is why he is no longer here in my opinion. Doubs is a good route runner with good hands. Not a great athlete. But he will be there when the games matter unlike some others. This is what happens when you have to resort to free agency to fill needs. You invariably have to overpay especially when your top option went back to Colts and the Eagles are being ridiculous in their asking price for AJ Brown. Do I love this, no, but I understand it and they had to outbid the Commanders to get him, which they did.

Well we disagree. How hard is it to run an out route? Pop is taking the same routes that Edlman and Welker ran.
please compare the YACs for Brown, Edelman and Douglas.

The routes may be similar. The results are different.

the odds aren’t in their favor but I believe 5 teams have won the Super Bowl without a 1000 yard receiver. They don’t have one on the roster so Drake Maye is going to have to step up again this year.

I’d rather have a terrible human being in Tyreke Hill who beats his loved ones, has a broken leg, 32 and has no game left because he can’t run than a now overpaid possession receiver who can’t get 1000 yards in a season.
uh. i wouldn't. lol

I would prefer to keep Pop over Boutte.

I feel like Diggs was taking over Pop's slot role and with him gone that should help give Pop more opportunities.

Boutte made some highlight reel catches but can he be relied upon consistently?
Poop is @ss no pun.

All you lunatics out here having a tantrum, tell me, what available, better, younger FA should they have signed?

Pickens? Tagged.
Evans? Old, overpay.
Pierce? 47 catches. Way overpay.
Shaheed? Route tree is a straight line. Stayed in Seattle. (I would have been ok with him)
Reek? Shredded leg, bad person. Pass.
Jennings? Available, older. Probably would have been ok too.

Vera Tucker is not someone you can say “shored up” the line. He’s torn both triceps, a peck, and an achilles in 4 seasons. Massive injury risk.

Doubs is a 3/4 they just paid as a #2.

Puzzling approach.

That said, most of last year’s pickups hit so maybe they have the “touch”.
He’s a 2. He led ALL Packer’s receivers in catches and yards and tied for the lead in TD catches. The Packers are a team that throws to TE’s a lot, but Tucker Kraft got hurt, so Doubs was the #1 guy on the Packers.

Yes. Almost like they're building a young receiving corps to grow along with Drake Maye for the future.
Is Boutte, Doubs , Williams worse than Boutte, Diggs, Hollins?

We aren’t an offense that is built for a #1 receiver. We are built to attack the entire field with all 5 eligible receivers.

We won 11 games last year when our “#1” has less than 50 yards.

I'm just responding to show off my avatar. No notes.

So…this bum is the number 1 now. At least for this year this kind of rules out AJ Brown or any actual impact wide receiver.
Maybe the team thinks they have something with Williams, enough for him to be a number 2 maybe

All of the above. Add Diggs too

You can't be serious.
