I agree, but our value to Pierce was greater than any other team, and that didn't sway him:
- Opportunity to play for a perennial SB contender
- Opportunity to play for one of the most stable organizations in the league
- Opportunity to play for a player-friendly HC known and close to his college HC
- Opportunity to play with the best young QB in the NFL and best deep ball thrower in the NFL
If Pierce wanted what he claimed, the Patriots should have been his 1st choice. No other team offered him the opportunity to take his game to the next level, become a truly elite WR, and win Lombardis.
In the end, those things didn't seem to matter.
