I don't think so, I think he gets paid as a good 2, he probably gets a deal similar to what Pittman got (around $20M APY), perhaps a little less, even.

Prefer to use our money elsewhere but Doubs is a decent young player, if he comes cheap enough its not a bad acquisition. Seems like they want to roll with the young guys (Boutte, Williams, Chism) but want to add a little more vet depth.

Seriously, what offensive players did the Pats miss out on? Pierce is a good WR, but he ain't elite. Likely is more potential than production.

I am disappointed that they haven't improved the passing offense, but the best way for them to improve it is still open in a trade for AJ Brown or another receiver like Brian Thomas. And there are other TEs out there that can be just as good as Likely and have been more productive in their career. I always thought Chig Okonkwo was the most likely TE free agent the Pats will sign, not Likely.

Because he doesn’t move the needle and he’s also going to cost more than any other WR they currently have. I could see him being paid like a WR2 while giving WR4 production.
