Patriots Rumor Tracker / FA Signings (Updated: Signings in OP - 4/7)

Our first is going to the Eagles or Cowboys isn’t it.
For Pickens or Brown.
George Pickens.

Thats why I said the smart ones can manage it to the best extent. There aren't many of those around and those teams pay the price.
Andy Reid has done the best job of it since Belichick.

Reid had to trade Tyreek Hill, let his All Pro LT Orlando Brown walk and his entire Pro Bowl defensive backfield leave or get traded away… all for draft picks.

The cap isn’t crap. Walton who own the Broncos has more money than any owner. Before that it was Paul Allen who owned the Seahawks. This isn’t baseball, there’s a hard cap. If there wasn’t, there would be super teams like the Yankees and Dodgers who simply outspend everyone every year. That doesn’t happen for a reason.

Mike Evans hamstrings vs 49ers sub station.

100% guaranteed minimum 4 week injury.
Yeah, Evans has all the makings of a guy that's starting to break down.

Receivers, we don’t need no stinking receivers.

49ers have so many players including the QB on massive deals now sign Evans, don't tell me the "cap" is important.

If you're willing to spend it's just accounting.
49ers pushed a lot of salary out. Warner, Kittle, McCaffery, Aiyuk, Mykel Williams.. All with Salary converted to Signing bonus.

Honestly? I could dead ass see that contract being the domino that eventually gets Gonzo traded.
U make a great case UGA.. I definitely believe they are going to tag him if they can't get a deal done.. but hopefully he stays... whenever you have a top 5 player at any position gotta retain them..

Yep the Cap is Crap brigade just listens to Felger. Its unfortunate.

3 years? Seriously?

Probably a cap related move. One year means you gotta take 100% of the cap hit this year. Three year allows you to spread out the cap hit especially in the first year. I bet it isn't much different structure than what the Pats did with Diggs last year.

They tell us the cap doesn’t exist when team X Is spending through the nose, then years later when team X has a four win record and is dead last in cap space… these same people are pointing at team Y saying “look how much they’re spending.”

They’re like my ex wives, there for the good times. I married two home makers. I bought two homes and they made them theirs.

Cripes! Just saw on the TV screen that Phillips just signed and saw that the first two letters of his new team started with “Pa” thinking (hoping) we had signed him. Congrats to the “Pa-nthers”… Oh well, “We all we got, we all we need (almost)”……Oh yeah, it’s past 2:30pm - did someone wipe the “smile” off Zolak’s face??!!

The 3 years prior in NO with Carr he averaged between 15-17 ypc. Yeah it dropped significantly last year in that 11-12 range but could be due to the rookie qbs in NO. It could improve with Maye.
He’s an afterthought receiver not a guy you spend big on.
The actual number was 18 catches in 12 games.

I certainly wouldn’t want him to take playing time from Kyle Williams.

Also his ypc was inordinately pumped up by one long catch in each season. For example in 2024 he had 20 at 17.5 but aside from his long of 70 it’s less than 15.

I'm surprised Kittle didn't retire.
