Apparently the Commanders hit the 30 million number he was looking for, from what I've seen.I wonder if the Colts got desperate and offered him a contract nobody else would give him.
Now they have no first rounders for the next few years. An ok QB. Potentially an overpaid WR. And are the third best team in the division right now.
Sounds like it might have been WAS who overbid for Pierce, not us.

But for tonight, it will keep the Colts fans happy, so it’s achieved it’s immediate short term goal.Seems like Carly is following Chris Greir's methods: Overpay an injury-prone and erratic QB, pair him with an over-paid WR, flush away the draft capital, end up an also-ran in your division.
It's a Jetsian approach to the offseason. But for tonight, it will keep the Colts fans happy, so it’s achieved it’s immediate short term goal.
Doing something does not mean panicking and overpaying someone, or paying Philly’s asking price.Prime Moss and Rice would reach 50 million per year.
Patriots definitely need to do something because this is not a good WR group they have atm.
No. Maybe draft a receiver.Doing something does not mean panicking and overpaying someone, or paying Philly’s asking price.
She and Amy Adams Strunk must be sorority sisters or something like that.People are saying we shouldn't panic and overpay, but that's exactly what Carly Irsay just ended up doing, after mis-managing their QB situation and flushing most of their draft capital for "more name than game" Sauce Gardner. So many bad decisions! It seems she went to the Stephen Ross School of Management.
I was being generous though he would have last year if he played 17.He's never hit 50.
Also the reason we look like we didn't belong in the SB.No. Maybe draft a receiver.
It looks like the offense is a bigger "issue" than the defense atm
A 60 year old Bad Moon Andre Rison would be easier to cheer for as a Patriot than Hill.I am now open to the possibility of a bad moon rising, Hill, on a make-it-deal.
I understand what you are saying but I don't think what he is getting paid matches his production. Yes, the colts had to overpay but that doesn't mean the Pats would have offered him the same money. I wouldn't pay a player who catches 50 balls and stretches the field 27 Million a year plus 60M up front and $84m in guarantees.. Just my opinion. Not picking on you, but there are so many people in this thread conflating price with value.
Chase is highly paid not just because he's good, but also because CIN uses the 'stars and scrubs' approach to team building. They have no winning history to bring fans in, so they use big names to fill the seats.
TFB12 was underpaid because at least most of the time he was taking deals below his true market value thinking that it'd improve the quality of players behind him.
Kirk Cousins was highly paid because he signed two franchise-tag deals with WAS that brought his salary to the average of the top five, then he hit free agency where he could name his price. Seems he might try for one more bite of the apple too.
Pierce's asking price was unlimited because the Colts didn't use the franchise tag on him so he had a clear path to free agency. The franchise tag price for WR was huge at around $27M but it also gave the Colts the ability to walk away if Pierce had a bad season. Because they used the tag on Jones they had to commit $60M up front and $84M in "guarantees" to keep Pierce away from free agency.
An average to good offense might have won that game. Also the reason we look like we didn't belong in the SB.
