Patriots Rumor Tracker / FA Signings (Updated: Signings in OP - 4/7)

I think it is also a negotiating tactic to some degree. They paid Jones $13M APY and they can say Jones is a better player than Chaisson, so Chaisson, you should take less than $13M APY. Then sign Chaisson at $10-11M APY.
Huh? You think they signed Jones just to convince Chaisson what he is worth?
They signed jones because they want him, probably a lot more than Chaisson

I’m thinking DreJones is what we were hoping Keion White would be. Good pass rusher who can standup and play on the line.

Standup on early downs, moves to End on passing downs, Barmore to nose.

Kenneth Walker to KC. Yuck

29 million a year? Seriously?
Yup. Pierce and Maye would be perfect together and it would open up every other route on the field.

Seahawks did the right thing letting Walker walk, 1000 yard running back is the cheapest and easiest position to replace a high end player.

Did I say that? I said it can be a negotiating tactic, I did not say they solely signed Jones just to sign someone else. It is a secondary effect.

Walker won them the superbowl though. Without him they dont score nearly as many points and Maye doesnt try to hero ball it in the 4th.

He was a beast during that game

Why did he wait until the literal stroke of free agency just to sign back with Indy??? Lmao

I think it worked the other way around. Ballard waited until the last second to come up with a monster deal to keep him.

I was thinking about this too, he can move around and so can Barmore and Williams. The DL will be pretty interesting this year.

He killed us in the Super Bowl.

But the season to season production wasn’t as heavy as I thought. Not sure what level he’ll be going forward.

I’d rather they have him than Jeremiah Love.

You called the signing a “tactic”

If they think they've solve the pass rusher problem maybe they'll use the first pick on a wide out instead. Just a thought, it make PF2 very happy

Pats should sniff around here, if the pick is low enough pull the trigger.
